SAMYANG12mm F2.8 Ultra Wide Fisheye Lens for Nikon DSLR Cameras - Full Frame Compatible

Great fisheye lens. The images are sharper than I was expecting. For an f2.8 lens, this is a great bargain compared to the OEM alternative. It is manual focus, but for landscape shots I tend not to have to play with focus too much anyways. Nice color rendering. I love the unique look the fisheye images produce compared to more traditional focal lengths. The lens seems solid and sturdy. Used in Nikon D750 FX.

I am impressed with the quality build, the amazing photo quality (plus they are fun pics), and the practical price. The electronics work well on my Nikon D810. Remember to set the aperture to f22. I bought it new. Very glad I got this lens. I also have 14mm weather sealed,wide-angle by Rokinon. All of the above applies.

Autofocus is unnecessary on a lens this wide. Focusing at infinity while shooting wide open means everything 2 feet away will be in focus. I received a good copy of the lens with no sign of decentered elements. Feels like a solid build. A bit soft in the corners but I can live with it. Minimum focusing distance makes it decent to get closeups with lots of background int the shot. The main things that irks me is the lack of filter threads. This means you can't shoot with an ND or CPL without buying an expensive dedicated filter mount system.All in all, it's a fast, wide lens that's great for astrophotography and landscape. Or if you just want to distort your up close subjects it's great for that too.

Amazing quality for a reasonable price! ultra sharp and amazing color rendition, it's THE BEST Fisheye available for FX cameras!, you DO NOT need autofocus for a fisheye, put the focus a little before the infinity mark and stop at f/5.6 and it'll be ultra sharp with everything in focus from 1 feet to infinity, the Nikon version has the focus confirmation chip so even with manual focus the camera will indicate when the area you need IS in focus, close the aperture ring and you can also control aperture with your camera controls, and all the exif data from the lens is saved on your raw files so you can do more precise editing later or defish it with sowftware

FF Nikon owner with a number of Nikon FX prime and zoom lenses. Now with one very nice, new Samyang Ultra wide angle lens.The build quality, fitment, metering and picture quality are excellent. Manual focus is no issue for this 12mm lens. This lens produces pictures that are equal to my prime lenses, you can be a pixel peeper. Check the digital images presented on Flickr for this lens. I use a highly rated Nikon 18-35 G lens for wide stuff and the 12mm for super wide. This lens pushes your creativity, you'll want to shoot with it for the effects it can produce. Very satisfied owner.
