Maybelline New York Instant Age Rewind The Perfector Powder, Medium, 0.3 Ounce

I am older and a lot of powders can look cakey on me, this does not!

I have dry skin so I generally try to stay away from powders but I have found that the Maybelline Age Rewind line works very well for me so I decided to give this powder a try for setting my makeup and keeping everything in place. This compact comes with a sponge underneath in its own chamber and the powder on top that is swirled with white primer. This actually lightens the powder a bit so, if you are not sure of which shade to get, you may want to consider going up one if you are in between shades. I got Medium and my skin is Medium. This powder seems to blend pretty well but it is so very lightweight that I barely can see it and that is a good thing.I use my own powder brush but the sponge is nice to have on hand if you touch up your powder. I don't because of my dry skin. I take a big fluffy brush and swirl it into the cake of powder, tap it, and then go over my whole face and tap the brush again and lightly go over my face again to get rid of any residue. I do this after all cosmetics are applied. The powder doesn't look shimmery or even visible. It feels light and doesn't look cakey on my skin. If I use too much, it will make my skin look dry but if I use it sparingly, it helps keep my makeup fresher longer. I generally use a good setting spray and this powder works as well or better to set my makeup.Some people use this as a lightweight foundation but I don't because it has barely any coverage and I need the moisture from a liquid or cream foundation. In all, I like this powder. I don't feel, for me, any powder is a must have, but this one is lightweight and sheer. It is fine for dry skin and doesn't look cakey or obvious. Although I am not usually a big powder person, I do use this one nearly everyday and am happy with it. The price is really good as well.

I saw this in a video on Facebook. I didn’t have any expectations whatsoever. You pat it on with a dense makeup sponge. It has nice, buildable coverage and I just love how it looks. Very surprised.

I wanted a product that would give coverage but not too much color as I have extremely fair skin. This seems to be doing what I asked it to do.

The product arrived broken and missing the application sponge pad. I feel like the product was used and resold to me.

Goes on smooth. Doesn't cake, lasts all day. Fair/light matches my completion perfectly. Unfortunately, the shipper put it in a big box with other stuff and it broke all up. I will need a refund and repurchase. Fair/light is difficult to find.

It can correct redness and not turn shiny over the day, which has always been an issue for me. It also works well under/over thin layers of other forms of foundation makeups depending on what one is dressing for. This product is a keeper!I wear it over a SPF 50 Neutrogena zinc-based (no chemical SS agents) sunscreen during the day winter and summer, and it looks great! I use a BIG finishing powder brush after knocking off excess powder to apply a whisper-thin layer of this powder product as a base layer to build my “look” from there. Discovered this base layer is beautiful as a daytime application even with only a great lip color for the lips. Love this powder!

I like that this has a bit of a shimmer to it, almost like bronzer. It does have a smokey smell to it as if the seller was a smoker or that it was kept in a smelly warehouse.
