5 Pounds: Water Absorbing Crystal Polymer Soil Moist Soil Vigor + Humic Acid (Organic Fertilizer) Combo: Commercial- Grade

I live in Central Gulf Florida. It's hot. I have been using the polymer water crystals for some time in my potting mixes. Those pretty coca liner hanging baskets - I line them all completely inside with used plastic shopping bags - otherwise you just can't keep the hanging baskets alive. This is a mix of the polymer crystals with a very generous amount of powdered humic acid. I will post a pic when some of the plant have grown up.You can buy decent potting mix, though even with miracle grow with "moister crystals" doesn't work that great.My mix is currently peat moss, coco coir, compost, pearlite - to ensure drainage - the polymer crystals - way more than you will find in any commercial mix, Dr. Earth fertilizer and some azomite. I can typically water my hanging baskets one a week and they do very well. I think the addition of the humic acid will add a lot.

This product came in a very brittle plastic bag that had broken in a couple of spots in the box and continued to break and make a mess after I took it out. It looks to be mostly humic acid. I mostly needed the water retention for planting some new trees in my sandy soil but not knowing the makeup of this humic acid product I don't want to mix enough in to actually do what I wanted. I bought this one because it looked like a value-added product but I should have just bought the two ingredients separately and mixed them myself.

I didn't use it because the bags opened in route and there was fine dirt all over the box and blew out when I openedthe box. I just really thought there was soil moist granules as the major component not dirt.The bags need to be stronger to prevent all the breakage and mess.

When it arrives, it looks like a bad of black dust. But spread it around and get the soil wet, and you're in for a treat. I used one 5 pound bag on a brand new sod installation. I am very pleased!

I have used water absorbing polymers before and always the granules were much bigger. This is like a fine powder? I don’t know how long it will hold water

I was hoping for more crystals

My garden loves this so much!!! Happy gardener here. I got 2 orders and will be buying more soon to go in potted plants. Living in San Antonio I need all the moisture I can keep in the dirt.Thanks

This is a great product for spring planting. I used it in some really large planters outside my church. Helpful in establishing new plants and keeping watered. All positive here.
