Tasty, no threads, good size
Some years ago, asparagus from China were much worse than from Spain, where I am from. Today, this brand, offers me the possibility of having decent asparagus with mayo or black pepper that are not too far away from a good brand in Spain (not the best). I order them regularly.

Inferior Product!
Earlier this year I bought white asparagus from Peru through Amazon, and it was excellent. The price of almost $30.00 for six glasses was a bit steep, but since I love this stuff, it was worth it. I was sorry to see that it was no longer available in November, and so I ordered the Asparagus Spears from Roland Foods. Big mistake for the following reasons: two of the six cans arrived severely dented. The asparagus were mushy and pretty much flavorless., in addition, the product left a metallic taste in my mouth when I tasted it. They fell apart as I tried to cut them with a sharp knife. I guess there is a good reason why quality asparagus are packaged in glass. I was so disappointed that I threw the whole shipment in the trash. This product should not be on the market!

Great Buy
This are hard to find at my grocery store, even Asian stores don't stock this on their shelves. I use this to make chicken soup with vermicelli noodles.

texture?
The asparagus tasted okay but it was somewhat mushier than I like, but then, I like fresh asparagus, so it's not a fair comparison.

First time I flushed white asparagus down the drain
If you are a huge fan of the central European White Asparagus Cuisine Culture, or better "CULT", then definitely stay away from this Roland product.Even if you think Reese's white asparagus spears from Peru are fine, stay away from the Roland product that features White asparagus from China. This is the first time I have put three cans of white asparagus through the garbage disposal! The white asparagus offered by Roland is over-cooked, has hardly any asparagus taste left, has no bite at all, has the tender heads squashed because they are put heads-down in the metal cans, is NOT even close to what I would consider "restaurant quality". Why does Amazon even offer this stuff? Moreover, it is rated "Amazon's Choice", raising serious doubts in my mind about the company's sincerity in rating food items.
