Place the clothes hole over the egg so that the wrong side of the fabric is facing you. 2. Start with a darning needle of the right size and a repair material (reinforcement thread, embroidery thread or yarn) for your project at least five stitches on the edge of the hole. For stability, use longer lengths of repair material. 3. Strive for a tight weave. Start sewing from top to bottom with a playpen stitch. 4. Add lines vertically spaced approximately one strand width apart. Leave small bows at the end of each row.
