Orchestral Bowing -- Style and Function: Workbook

Helpful bowing concepts
Excellent overview of both the physics and musical styles and techniques of bowing. The bow is the most important aspect of string playing and this book details how to improve your sound with respect to proper sounding points, playing near the bridge or the fingerboard, bow speed, pressure etc. The title is unfortunate since it is not merely a book for orchestral musicians.

Perfect for orchestrators, teachers, and students
I am an orchestrator/composer/arranger for film and commercial music, and this book has assisted me in many ways. The best part of this book is that it maps out the information for teachers and students. Everything is very simple to understand. Diagrams/text are clear and concise, and the pages are easy to reference later on. Everything from the physics of string vibration, from phrasing/bowings, to pizzicato is covered. This is the one book you should get if you are interested in writing/teaching/learning strings.

THIS IS NOT THE TEXTBOOK YOU"RE THINKING OF!!! This is the supplementary workbook.
I came across this book online and it seemed to be a fantastic resource; which led me to buy this. However, it turns out that this is supposed to be a two-part resource: textbook with supplementary workbook. This is just a workbook with a bunch of bowing exercises (I've already got a ton of those). Pointless without the textbook! Hopefully, I will indeed get my money back - we'll see.
