A/C Safe AC-160 Universal Heavy Duty Window Air Conditioner Support

I purchased this item when I ordered a Window Air Conditioner. However when my AC arrived, I was surprised to find that the AC does not have a flat bottom to sit on the bracket. The underside of the AC is rather irregular. So instead of using the bracket, I decided to build a wood frame around the AC to support the unit. Luckily Amazon provided a full refund and provided a shipping label To ship the item back to them for free.

I bought this for my window AC unit in my apartment and it was great! Easy to install, and holds the unit in place perfectly. It comes with a level built into it, which was really helpful. I used it for 5 years and was still working great up until the day I moved out. One of the best purchases I ever made.

I purchased this product because I installed an horizontal air conditioner in a vertical window, on the third floor master of our home. The bracket has proven to be solid, along with a bar I place inside across the window, and extra insurance a ratchet strap using two eye bolts I installed in the window sill. The initial piece, needed to be installed in the window frame, was too wide, by about 1/8". I sent an email to the manufacturer to ask about a narrower block or would it be permissible for myself to narrow the block without changing the integrity of the assembly. They emailed me back within the hour I think and said it would be okay to narrow the block, so I shaved an 1/16 off each side and proceeded to complete the installation. I installed the shelf with what I thought was the appropriate angle, but discovered there was a roll in the air conditioner sitting on the bracket. Pulled the unit back out, increased the down angle more on the bracket and reinstalled the unit. Must work properly, as I see water dripping from the unit outside.

As I received this I was in a rush to install it, only to notice that the angle limitation of the leg does not work if there is a large boarder below your window. I also noticed that the contraption is in metal with white paint all over it which seems really slippy, I am not sure I would like to use this even if it worked with my window. I would really suggest to get anti-slip material with this to sleep better at night. (note: I am not a professional in air conditioner)

They don't quite fit my windows as the level gets in the way of optimal positioning. The angled leg also doesn't seem to lock to the right position, so it takes a bit of trial and error. Still, they work well and I've got 3 installed. Also use some webbing to strap the A/c unit down onto the bracket, as while they do offer necessary support, they're a bit narrow.
