Simple and beautiful soap dish but graphic directions were not helful.
When I ordered the Grohe Euphoria Hand Shower system, I opted to not get the soap dish but decided after installation that I wanted it. I spent an inordinate amount of time online trying to figure out how to install it. The clip looks fragile/brittle so I thought I had to remove the slide pole to install it as the directions illustrate. You don't. I wish I had read what another reviewer had written (below) rather than anxiously attaching it fully expecting to break an over-priced OEM soap dish."Note, that you do not have to remove the pole in order to put this dish on. It does feel a bit like you may snap the piece when attaching this to the pole, but push it on slowly and gently and it'll be fine." Indeed.

No need to remove bar to install - - - can be swiveled to sit in any position on the bar (either side or straight out in front)
We renovated 3 bathrooms, but for some reason, one of the shower pole units did not come with a soap dish. The 2 that did, were oval shaped and clip on so it sits in front of the bar.I do like the feature of having a soap dish attached to the pole, so I ordered this one.To be honest, I actually like this one better because although it snaps in place onto the pole in much the same way as the oval one does, the fact that this is round, means that it can be swiveled to any convenient position on the pole.I have it swiveled to the side so it butts up against the shower wall, on the side opposite of where the shower hose hangs. This way, it's out of the way, the shower hose does not catch on it, yet it's still within easy reach.I read reviews about how it's easily broken when hit or banged, and I can see this happening if positioned so it sticks straight out front. That's another reason I like it swiveled to the side against the wall. The dish comes with an attachment to adapt to different size poles. The Grohe New Tempesta bar that we have, did not require the adapter.Note, that you do not have to remove the pole in order to put this dish on. It does feel a bit like you may snap the piece when attaching this to the pole, but push it on slowly and gently and it'll be fine. I used a gently rocking motion, rather than just slamming it on.If pressed to critique, I'd say that the size could stand to be a bit larger to accommodate larger bars of soap, but then again, if it was larger, it wouldn't tuck away against the wall so easily either. We use a large bar of soap in this bathroom, and have been able to balance it on this dish just fine.Of course, it does gripe me that I paid $13 for this plastic dish that should have come with my shower bar set to begin with, but it's my choice to buy it so can't complain too much.

Perfect replacement for a broken (cracked) soap dish
After five years (post bathroom renovation), the soap dish that came with our shower fixture cracked. Initially, I thought we might have to start using the shower insert for our soap. I wasn't crazy about that idea at all. I found this Grohe soap dish; it is an exact match for the one that cracked. It was really easy to take out the old one and replace it with this one. Just like new again!

look at mimi's review-Dishwash liquid needed
I have had this dish for years (over 7) and loved it. However, the plastic rounder ring attachment device it attaches to has been a problem of trying to force it on and broke. I appreciate the new order as it has 2 of the attachment rings. The ring is very hard to force on (always has been) and is what breaks. I was ready to return as I could not get that ring on. Then one reviewer said the dishwasher liquid helped, referring to Mimis, and woo-ha, it worked. Without dishwasher liquid, I would have returned it (I had a hammer and screwdriver, et al., to force it in place before I went back and reread the reviews- thank heavens for the reviews here.

Broke
Worked great for one year. Then the mounting collar cracked and broke. Not from hitting it, it just broke under the mounting tension. Bought another one for now since it is what I need.

nice soap dish for Grohe bathroom hardware
this should be part of the shower assembly instead of something you need to order. with that said, it's a two piece unit, one part goes around the upright pipe snuggly and clips the soap holder portion to the pipe. it's all made of clear plastic and looks very good. appears solid, no wigglying around it stays in place very tight. is large enough you can leave two bars of soap on it.

Exact OEM Replacement
I love my Grohe shower system. As a matter of fact, this is the third house I have installed one in. The downfall of the system is the plastic clip that holds the soap dish on the bar. This is a full OEM replacement for the dish/clip. Took all of five minutes to install. I removed the screw holding the bottom support, slid the bar out of the support and slid the new clip over the bar. Put it all back together and I was done. I purchased two at this price so I have a spare if the new one breaks.
