GütermannThread Set with Ruler and Stitch Ripper, Polyester, Multicolor, One Size

I am a middle aged man who has spent a lifetime carefully collecting hotel sewing kits. I used these kits for simple repairs to my clothes - replacing buttons, small repairs etc. I must have dozens of these kits, a product of the thrift instilled into me by my well-intentioned parents.Then I borrowed a spool of Gutermann thread. Wow! What a difference. From threading the needle to the ease it can be pulled through a garment. It is vastly stronger too. Shortly afterwards I purchased this sew-all kit of 11 threads.The hotel kits now reside in a shelf in the garage unlikely to be used again. This thread and kit are fantastic. 11 spools of useful colours which should last me a lifetime. Much stronger and easier to use, an absolute revelation, l feel like a man who has just eaten a steak after a lifetime of burgers.I use them for hand stitching and not on a machine so cannot comment on how good they are with a machine. They come in a useful box. The included stitch ripper is handy too.Highly recommended.

This is the 4th set I have ordered. I purchased one a few months ago when I was away from home and had it delivered to another address. I left it there and decided the thread is such good quality I would order another for home use. Now ordered another set as a gift for a youngster new to sewing. I gave them my old sewing machine and though that this thread would be a good starting point. Still happy to recommend. It has a very sharp stitch ripper and a plastic ruler as well, which was ideal for measuring trouser hem to ensure correct amount taken up. I will no doubt order again as gifts, value for money for sure. Happy to recommend and I am certain that it is a genuine Gutermann product..

Was looking for a particular colour, saw it was in this kit and realised I could do with stocking up my thread box a bit - have been very pleased with everything.The stitch ripper has seen a lot of use today on some tricky fabric and has worked perfectly.I wasn't that bothered about the little measuring guide but i have been using it constantly today whilst making new blinds - it is a handy size and very clearly marked.I have used it in my machine and for hand-sewing up corners. Worked fine. (I haven't had any problems with it snapping like some people have said - it might possibly be an issue with the tension on the sewing machine? I've had that before.)A friend who came to join in the fun was very impressed so I have just bought her a set as a thank you - I know she will be delighted too.

I'm just so glad I paid the price and bought these very good quality threads. It's true that you get what you pay for and these really are fantastic quality.For those who can't find the end, it's pinched at the end of the reel, opposite end to the one with "Gutermann" printed on it.This thread is clean, smooth, no snags and much stronger than others. If ever I need another colour, I'll not hesitate to buy this brand again. I won't even look elsewhere now.

Liked the variety of coloursStitch unpicked includedAlso a small ruler. Dissapointed the ruler is not very strong,very thin like paper. So doubt it will last for long .would have been great if it was hard plastic. I will use it .Due yo its thin properties, will bend easily, that will defeat the purpose
