Yes,this base coat suit for any normal nail polish and also can use with polygel.

Q: Are these supposed to be the same as the ones with wooden tops? If so are they the older model or new packaging? I can’t find the wooden top.

They have the wood tops, is the old formula, old packaging.

Q: Do these contain methacrylate?

I have no idea if they they contain methacrylate. I would ask the manufacturer.
