Excellent system. Works great once you understand it.
I couldn't believe that this included "everything I need" for the price, but it does: Dongle which converts "White, Red, Yellow" signals - to USB, in addition to an excellent software package which makes it easy to capture video - and then to *edit* that video: yes, this product includes a good video editor. Once I got out an old VHS tape player, hooked up the wires (OK. I had to have my own "Yellow, White, Red" wires - to come out of the VHS player - then connect to the dongle included in this product), connected the USB to my computer, and fired up the capture / editing software, I was able to start saving off all of the old family videos on VHS. Now they're in digital and I can burn them to DVD or just save them as a digital file anywhere. All of that said, there were a couple of start-up things that I had to learn. The instructions say to carefully download a driver. In my case, I'm running Windows 10 - and Windows 10 already had the driver (or automatically downloaded it), point being that I was able to totally skip that step. Next thing was that the video editor has a feature to "start / stop including this video" - as part of a "multi-cut edit". It's a great feature: after capturing, I can just watch the video on my computer, and click to start excluding - then click again to start including - on and on - until I'm done and I click the "go ahead and edit it all down" button - and it just clips out all of the stuff I wanted to throw away. It's great. My problem was that it was counter-intuitive to me: I kept clicking to "clip this out" but that meant "keep this" and vice versa. Once I understood which way the software worked, it works great. The only other problems I've had - have to do with getting the correct kind of DVD blanks for my computer's DVD burner, but that has nothing to do with this package or its software. Bottom line: Nobody knows just how long our VHS tapes will last. They're just magnetic dots on tape. They will slowly demagnetize over time. Don't lose your priceless, unique family videos: instead, buy this system and get them into digital, shareable form. One final remark: Remember that you're taking this video from VHS tape. VHS tape has a kind of grainy resolution that is no fault of this product. If you doubt, then hook your VHS player up to a TV and be reminded of just how BAD our video was - before HD and UHD, and 4K and 8K and..... point being "don't blame this product for VHS-quality video. That's the best that can be done - unless you get some kind of separate video-enhancement software which up-converts". That may exist, but don't expect this very-amazingly-priced product to do that.

Really good software
I was at first skeptical this product could transfer my old VHS tapes to a digital format, however I was pleasantly surprised to see how well it went and how easy it was. I did have to email their support to get a bit of help (because I am not a techie) but their support was excellent and they responded quickly. I have now transferred 3 VHS tapes to CD and they all work just fine. Have a bunch to go, but don't think they will be a problem and if I do run into a problem I feel confident their support group is available to help.

Works as described and I'm pretty happy with it!
This product works pretty good once you figure it out. In my case, it took a bit to figure out that it DOESN'T" work with a TV/VCR combo as those are only input and does not output to the computer at all. Once we figured that out, we actually had to buy a used camcorder as ours stopped working a long time ago. It worked perfectly and I've been able to put my home movies into DVD, external hard rive. Dropbox, and even on a YouTube private channel (if they are too long-file too big- to share on Dropbox). I've edited out what I don't need in particular sections thru the program and have done long versions and short versions of the same home movie for the purpose of easy sharing. Something to note is that if you add clips to the storyboard, once you click produce (must choose Mpeg file), it will take all clips on the storyboard and make it into one long movie/file. If you want a short movie clip, then have only that specific clip on the storyboard, then hit produce and save. It actually works perfectly!I'd say that the down side is that there are no extensive instructions on the Help section of the CD that comes with it.

Do Not Buy
It seemed to install with ease then I tried to use it, complete failure. The software wouldn't work because the drivers were not installed. After several attempts to get the drivers loaded I finally gave up. Then I tried to uninstall the software and all I get is "Installation support file could not be installed Catastrophic Failure" so now I'm stuck with a piece of garbage software on my PC. I sent it back and got a refund.

didn't work on Windows 10, did on Windows 7
I had this product a few years ago, with different packaging. I thought I was buying something different; since the page said this works on Windows 10, and my other one only worked on my Windows 7 laptop at the time. Now, I'm not a computer genius, but I'm not an idiot either, so I'm pretty confident either (1) this doesn't work on Windows 10 or (2) the process is so complicated that a regular customer shouldn't have to go through that process.I got the new thing, found it's the same product is before, and again, didn't work on Windows 10. I bought a cheap Windows 7 laptop. The software works on it, but is the exact same software I used a couple years ago. So there was no reason for me to buy this.Customer service immediately offered a refund, and offered some other solutions that weren't satisfactory, so I took the refund. They seemed nice, as far as I can tell through email.
