While unbleached sea sponges can generally be comparatively stronger (and not as soft) as their bleached counterparts, their “toughness” would also be dependent on the type of sponge itself. Lullingworth’s Natural Sea Sponges 2 pack have been specifically selected for painting. The size of pores of these natural sea sponges is ideal for decorating because of the depth and texture effects they can create. As a result, they will not necessarily last longer than bleached sponges. Also, their longevity will be affected by frequency of use and by wear and tear.
