Excellent reference, crappy construction
This is a comprehensive reference. One that will be used many times for years to come if it doesn't fall apart first. It would be a blistering read as a class text unless it spans multiple semesters. There is a tremendous amount of knowledge & experience in this tome.I did expect some photographs to go along with the illustrations because your talking about "drape" here... ...a difficult thing to get across in a line drawing with newspaper dots. The inclusion of photography would be better suited to demonstrate those issues of a more fluid nature... ...grayscale would suffice. Without it, everything has the visual "hand" of muslin. Perhaps I lack the imagination necessary to make this as visually rich as the text is voluminous. That said, I have more than a handful of books on & around the subject matter published over many years. I was looking forward to the content of this book appearing as updated as the publishing date. It does not.I have a huge complaint about the quality of the book. I treasure my books and treat them accordingly. By the time I read 36 of the 600+ pages, they are already separating from the binding glue at the bottom of the spine. You can hear the glue snap as you turn the pages. 1 star lost for crappy construction.I would recommend this book for anyone wanting an exhaustive reference. How well you expect a book at this price point to hold up, under however much use you plan to give it, is purely a subjective call.Given a Mulligan, I'm not certain I would buy it again because I already have a large reference collection and so far, there is little I don't have somewhere else & nothing to show it's current except the cover photo.Add to that, this book has substantial weight, approx 6 pounds. It was shipped in a box with a small piece of paper. It arrived with the box crushed, 3 corners broken open, book exposed with only a few strapping tape threads holding the box around the book.ALL of the pages are bent wavy on the upper right corner & the cover is accordion bent in the same corner.Amazon.ca chose inappropriate packaging & did a piss poor job at securing the packaging that they did choose. This is not reflected in my rating of the book as that would be just as inappropriate.

Bel libro ma mi aspettavo di più
Sinceramente mi aspettavo di più sulla tecnica del draping, invece sono spiegati bene solo le basi.Quindi se non hai alcuna conoscenza della tecnica del taglio può essere utile.

What the Pros Use
This textbook is used by many top fashion design schools. It is clear and concise, and it provides step by step instructions on how to drape. If you are good at self-learning, this book will take you far!
