The battery charge doesn't last as long as expected, and the light is not as bright as in the photo...but it's nice enough, works as promised. Brightness and duration might be because it is a local that only gets direct light in the afternoon.

I absolutely love this lantern. Unfortunately the battery didn’t last very long. It is hanging with other solar lanterns that still work well.

Nice accent to our tiki corner. They also make such a cute light pattern on the ground I bought two more for our patio.UPDATE: Only one of the four lasted all summer... by September three of them stopped working completely.

This lantern comes fully assembled and ready to go. The bail is a little loose, but I was taking it off for use on a table top. I put the lantern out in the sun and came back in the evening for the show. Darkness. Looked for a switch but could not see anything. Finally, searched the questions and found that you have to ease the solar device out of the metal lantern and turn on the switch on the bottom of the small solar assembly. Voila, beautiful patterns on my deck every night. A tiny scrap of paper with instructions to turn the lantern on would be very helpful.

I am not sure whether other buyers had a better batch or what, but the first one I got did not work and the replacement does not either. After charging, the lamp goes off and on at random and will not stay on. The switch apparently is very poor quality.In addition, to turn the lamp on requires removing the unit from the housing. The directions say to just leave it on, however this would require one to live in say, Arizona or Florida, where there is a lot of reliable sunshine to constantly recharge it. Not so in the Pacific Northwest, for example.The designation “Amazon’s Choice” leaves me doubting this whole category.Don't waste your time on this.
