Sales Leaders or Wanting to Become One.
I have to tell a short story, i live on a country road and not much traffic. But one morning in the road was this old leather bond book with a few pages missing, no cover and torn up pretty bad. It was this book but and old one but with the same content. I'm a Territory Manager and this book had so many quotes and suggestion that i started using it. Now 6 months later i find myself needing this little book. So i got the Audio and the hard copy. If you are a sales leader or want to become one, you need this book. FYI, there is no downside to this little gem.

Great Book that Contains Easy to Apply Concepts
I've read several of John Maxwell's books recently. I found this one to be especially practical. Many of the qualities presented had immediate actions that I could take with my team.I was so impressed with this book that I gave it to my managers for their Christmas present this year.

Product is good. Quick Delivery. BORING book. Full of a lot of useless fluff. Maxwell's worst book I have read.

Wisdom (that you've probably heard before)
If you've never read a book on leadership by John Maxwell, this is a great book! It covers the basics well. Maxwell's chapters are short, they state a principle, give an illustration, and then urge us to search our hearts and make real changes. The book can be read one chapter at a time (It is best this way, I think --with meditation on the ideas) or all in one sitting. Maxwell's illustrations stick with me long after the chapter has been read --for days in fact. subjects are not rocket science, but good common sense wisdom rarely is. He is wise enough to know isolate the qualities a leader needs and explain how to measure yourself to see if you have them. Qualities like Character, Charisma, Commitment (no, they don't all start with C!), self discipline, Vision, Teachability.Great book.why only 3 stars? well, actually, if it's your first John Maxwell book it's 5 stars! But if you have read any of his other books on leadership (I have read several), frankly, it's the same as them. Just get on leadership book by Maxwell and read it every few years to freshen up on the basics. That will do.

Solid principles, Great book!
John Maxwell does a great job writing a book that connects with readers on multiple levels. He provides historical references of successful leaders who have embodied the traits and characteristics mentioned in each chapter. He further aligns each section with take aways that help the reader gain knowledge on how to incorporate proven methods and techniques to become a better leader.

Abstract puff piece
Maxwell might have written the book on Leadership, but this isn't it.This is a little book -- 156 undersized pages -- containing little information. It's full of platitudes. "Refocus your attention." "Live your message." "Commitment starts in the heart."Duh! How is anyone supposed to put these abstract ideas into practice? The only way to understand leadership is to hear stories about effective leaders. About how, for example, they continued communicating during times of crisis when others would have not communicated. About how they worked overtime to fix their companies and inspired others in their organization. About how during wartime they welcomed input from any source and found a unique person with a unique perspective that allowed them to redraw their war plans and win.But the only anecdotes in this book come at the start of each of the 21 brief chapters on a quality (like communication or dedication) that a leader needs. The other 80% of each chapter is a bunch of abstract rules like Communicate! Show Dedication! Passion Increases Your Willpower! This is all motherhood and apple pie. Only more abstract. And it's impossible to absorb or remember what Maxwell is talking about because he's just listing things you should do to be a leader.Tell me one good story about a great leader like Winston Churchill, FDR, or JFK, and it would be worth another hundred pages of Maxwell's abstract thought. The only reason I give this any stars is that I sense Maxwell has more to say and knows his stuff. But he's certainly not strutting it in this book. Try something else by Maxwell. Not this book, for this reader. This is the kind of book I would purchase for a gift grab bag at the office. It won't offend anyone, but it won't change anyone either.

tips and strategies would have been far more useful.
Too positive, erring towards the side of unrealistic. You should be open and optimistic but as a strong leader nowadays - a healthy level of cynicism is needed to be truly successful. Also, some real life examples, tips and strategies would have been far more useful.
