Adds a lot of flavor and color to soups, stir fry and sauces .

Its just sort of lacking in almost all areas. It works to give a little boost to gravy's taste and color but other than that, it's just sort of so so. I was expecting more of a portabella or porcini taste. Don't think it will be a rebuy for me.

I've put it in several things now, and I don't really taste much mushroom flavor. Put in too much and it's kinda dusty tasting.

Quality

I SPECIFICALLY bought this to use in stew, as my regular recipe uses something that contains wheat. Unfortunately I can't eat wheat anymore, and so I had to figure out how to amend my recipe and this came in very handy. I can't wait to try it in other things.

I had high hopes for this but the flavor just doesn't come through. I was expecting a really strong shiitake & umami flavor but it really doesnt taste like much. I've works with fresh and dried mushrooms many, many times and this powder doesnt even come close.It's also pretty hard to mix with things - its clumpy, almost like a hot chocolate powder. I even tried using my milk frothier to mix in with liquid and it still took forever to get the clumps to dissolve!!

I read about using this powder for cooking and honestly it’s life changing. I made soup yesterday and included product. It adds amazing flavor. The powder itself is very very finely ground and mixes in beautiful.
