Great little phone packed full of features
I bought this phone to ditch my smartphone but still wanted WhatsApp. This little phone is perfect. It's a basic phone so don't expect a Great camera and lots of apps, however it does have Facebook, Google, Twitter. You can delete these though which I did, as wanted to get away from all that. The camera is actually not too bad for sharing pics of your day etc just not great for high resolution shots. The battery lasts several days and never had a signal problem or phone freeze like a more expensive all singing and dancing phone. It can connect to WiFi and it has internet sharing. It has predictive text also but you need to put language on English US for this. The only down sides to this phone is the screen scratches super easily, it's plastic and I had it in my pocket once and it scratched. The other thing is somethimes the buttons don't react how you press them and you get a number instead of a letter, like the button has stuck down. Predictive text can be frustrating but hey, this is how we did it in the 90s right!? I'd definitely recommend this phone. I'm just gutted my screen has got so scratched.

Obsolete
On paper, this is exactly what I was looking for: a simple, non-smart phone so I could tether my laptop and work without distractions. I get distracted very ... what was I saying?I like the form factor, it doesn't feel cheap, and KaiOS is easy-to-use and reminds me of the early days of Android. However, a recent trip away for a digital detox revealed that a lot has changed since I bought the TT240 in December 2023. First of all, WhatsApp has been removed. This was actually kind of beneficial as it meant I was left alone and didn't get constant updates about missing cats on my street. But it has become the de facto communication app and it is a lifeline for many. What's worse is that EE no longer supports 3G (well, not in the area I was in), which means anything internet-related is painfully slow. We're talking 2002 levels of mobile internet speed, when it would take about 15 minutes to load a tiny GIF of Deanna Troi. And, of course, you can forget about using it as a WiFi hotspot. You would get a better internet connection from a hotdog. Texts took ages to come through as well, and I seemed to miss some calls. You might have better luck if you're not on EE, but it does seem that most operators are transitioning away from 3G, so its days are numbered.I know I wanted a basic phone, but not like this.

Fast, semi smart 😆
The only reason for not giving this 5/5 is because of the call volume (slightly low) and battery life (not the best however not bad at all), the rest of the phone is top quality. 👌I expected WhatsApp and the other smart apps to be slow however I was wrong. There are countless features such as Internet sharing (hotspot), Bluetooth and mobile data which were unexpected at this price range.8/10 recommend.

Doesn't work in Africa
WhatsApp would not run when used in Sierra Leone (fine in UK). Might have something to do with the configuration of the local SIMs, but that's just a guess. Also there's no Telegram install I could find that worked. You can get a cheap smartphone for a similar price which runs Android.

It may look like just a button phone but with some useful features!
Nice phone with speak to text function, even though there is a predictive text option when in US mode. It has hotspot feature! Nice loud speaker for calls and music. Has Google assistant using voice recognition with easy one button press. Has YouTube, Facebook, maps and WhatsApp (text and pictures only) and because the programs are limited it does really help have decent internet break (boundary) whilst still being able to access things if needed such as email. The menu is straight forward and the games on it are fun if you did need to pass the time while waiting somewhere and don't want to use the internet. Screen is bright and clear but prone to hairline scratches so it can get scruffy in a few weeks but it's light and compact, connects to my Bluetooth headphones no problem. I would totally recommend this phone and TTFone phones. Quick dispatch too and good second hand offers.

Okay Phone
I really wanted a dumb phone and get rid of my smartphone. This phone has some pros and cons.Pros - Phone easy to use, no distracting apps, small, lightI noticed that if I do make any phonecalls, the battery drains very quick.Went from like 40% to 4% in like 20 mins. On full charge it lasted 3 days whenwhen not really making any calls, but the moment I made a longer call, it drained very quick,I would say it drained quicker than my smartphone during a call.Thought Brick phones were meant to have better battery life?Anyway I don’t know if I’d put that as a Con.Cons - very bad call volume. Cannot hear people most of the time, spend most of the time shouting What?! Can you say that again?!Especially if I’m outside of the house and there is any background noise at all.Even with earphones, can barely hear anything. You would think that if you’re trying to get a phone just for Calls and Texts, that at least the call volume would be decent. For that Reason alone I’m giving such a low rating,I need to get a different phone because I can’t function with such a low volume.I also do wish the Whatsapp had voice calls at least or even video calls.I guess I didn’t check that before buying, just assumed it had it, but it’s text and voice note only.I can put up with that more than with the call volume.I will be getting a different phone though because I can’t handle the low volume, and I’m not deafI do have good hearing in case anyone is wondering.
