Nestle Dark Chocolate Flavor Hot Cocoa Mix - Dark Chocolate - 50/Box

I will soon have to buy more for this Winter.

Nestle dark chocolate cocoa powder is not overly sweet and has a nice finish in your mouth. I make my own version of hot chocolate using Nestle Dark Chocolate cocoa mix as my base. To a 1/2 packet of Nestle, I add a teaspoon of the best pure baking chocolate powder that I can find. I finish it with a 1/4 cup almond milk or dairy milk.

The Nestle hot chocolate mix makes a great tasting drink on a cold winter day or night. It mixes well with heated, hot water.

Flavor was not as dark chocolate taste as it shouldBe

We had a few packets remaining from when we bought this at our local grocery store. When I decided to order it from Amazon, I saw that there was more than one dark chocolate Nestle mix and did a very careful comparison with that pictured, so that I would get the same product that we had purchased.I had previously written that the results are fine and the flavor is the same. The packets are fine, yes, but the flavor is NOT the same. Nestle evidently changed the formula on this and it is more of a milk chocolate, than a dark chocolate product. It is quite sweet, but can leave a bitter taste in your mouth.While we will keep what we have received, I do not expect the seller to replace the box of packages, simply because this is a problem with Nestle, and not the seller.One caveat is that these packages, including those sold in the grocery stores, are for six (6) ounces of hot water, and not more. If you want to mix more hot chocolate, such as in a cup, typically about 12 ounces, use two packages. Otherwise, you may think that the flavor is weak.

The value is good and the dispensing box is great to grab ‘n go, but this one isn’t as rich or yummy as the Swiss Miss dark chocolate I haven’t been able to find anywhere. The depth of flavor just isn’t there for me but that is just a personal choice. Good value but I won’t get again, I’ll try out a different dark chocolate brand next time.

Want a chocolate drink that is actually drinkable? I found the Nestle Dark Chocolate being offered on my last Holland America cruise. It had a better taste than any other packaged (or even unpackaged) hot chocolate drink I'd had. There are some better tasting ones offered by upper end hotels, but this one is both affordable and tastes great. The cost of being it online beats the price I've found locally. Most of the time it is available either in smaller versions or not at all at local grocery stores. One time I ordered it, it was sent to me from a local Sam's Club (to which I do not belong), so I guess it might be easy to get at a local Sam's club if you were a member. In either case, this is an excellent version of the drink. I even purchased a on counter water heater that boils the water quickly and creates the drink in less than a minute.
