Great leash for training or every day use
I really like this leash. Looks good and super functional. When in busy areas I use the leash in it's shortest configuration and then can fully extend it when we're out in the open for the dog to roam a little without me needing to follow so closely. I'm reasonably tall and the lead also works well for over the shoulder, or around the waist, hands free walking/training.

Are they both Halti leads?
I bought 2 “Halti” leads, one in red for my own dog and one in purple for my daughter's dog! There was a difference in price but I assumed the purple lead was more expensive because of the colour. When they arrived the purple lead had a fabric backing to it while the red one was just webbing! Also the clips on the purple lead were bigger and chunkier! The brand logo was also different on each lead. I have kept them both as they are sufficient for my needs but I’m wondering if either are actually ‘Halti’ leads as they are so different although the Halti label on the purple lead does show an R in a circle indicating a trademark brand which the red one does not!

Comes unclipped when my dog shakes her head
I've had this lead for a couple of weeks now, and quite liked it until recently... the lead bit it's self is thick and sturdy with a nice soft neoprene inner which I found nice to hold, good length, which is great for training and reflective for dark nights and mornings. Ace.However, the clasps come unfastened when my dog shakes her head, which kind of makes all the previous good points irrelevant really, if it won't stay fastened its pretty much useless unfortunately.I've had to send it back, I contemplated buying some mini screw-gate carabinas to replace the clasps, because I like the lead, but Halti should really fix this problem not me.

Nicely padded but beware of the clip
I really like the length of this lead and the positioning of the D-rings. As a dog trainer I use lots of leads on many dogs. I have encountered the one problem with this lead. Four times the clip has undone when my dog has been wearing it. That’s 4 times she could have run off and got hurt. I have tried the clip facing both ways, it makes no difference. I have used many leads and on her harness and this is the only lead this has happened with. It’s such a shame when the lead is lovely.

So nice I bought it twice
We bought a black halti lead for our spaniel, she pulls a lot so the double ended lead really helped with adding an extra point of control. Following that I purchased this red version so that we could rotate between 2 depending on which was cleanest etc.unfortunately, the spring on the clip must have broken - twice she came free, the clip on the lead literally flew off of her collar - I’m sure this isn’t a reflection on all of their products and we’ve just had a bad experience but in this instance she ran across a road and it was a real nightmare! We were able to get her to come back to us but we’ve lost all trust in this lead now which is a shame

The clip isn't very robust - dog shook himself off lead
Unfortunately I will never be buying a Halti lead again. We bought one of the red training leads previously and had a similar issue - we assumed it was a manufacturing error - but now this is the second Halti lead with the same issue. Essentially my dog was able to shake himself off this Halti lead (which seemed at first more robust as was a bigger clip) and presumably the shaking motion means the clip becomes loose enough to come off (maybe not a tight enough spring in the clip mechanic?).This led to a 1 mile chase along the Thames Path in Greenwich of a juvenile Shiba Inu with bad recall (approx 12 kg, so not a mega large breed) which was entirely avoidable (we always keep him on lead in built up areas). Thankfully we didn't end up running after him on any roads with cars. We have had better longer lasting leads from Lidl for half the price (unfortunately the other lead got worn out and we haven't seen similar back in stock so we had to find an alternative).
