I bought this belt to use daily for residential construction work. Its comfortable allowing you to bend at the waist, sit down, or get down on your knees when working on the floor. I even wear it when I drive. Its very adjustable in how snug you make it because of the secondary side flaps, so you can always loosen it quickly if you need to. Sturdy in its manufacture and is in like new condition after 4 years of use. I suspect it will last for decades at this rate. [This is a WAY, WAY better quality belt than what is sold for $15 bucks at the big box home stores.] It provides as much support as you can get without wearing a weightlifting type (leather belt) instead, and those types of belts are far too uncomfortable to be worn all day because they really dig into your sides and hips. The XL was true to fit - I have a 38" waist and it looks like the belt has enough adjustability left to fit down to a 37" waist. Be sure to measure around your waist at, or maybe 1" below your bellybutton. DO NOT order these types of belts based on your underwear waistband size or the belt will be too small!!!! NOTE ON GETTING ADDED SUPPORT: A little trick I use is to wear a leather weightlifting type belt over this one for super support when I have something especially heavy to lift, like an appliance or unloading a truck full of 90lb cement bags or 3/4" plywood by hand. With the Proflex belt under it, you can wear a weightlifting belt much more comfortably, and the weightlifting belt prevents any give whatsoever which gives you that mega support to protect your back. But the majority of the time, for routine work like carrying tools, and supplies up to say 60lbs, I just wear this Proflex belt by itself.

I wanted a very firm back support for moving furniture and heavy boxes around my house. I selected this model because of perceived build quality, innovative design, and price point. I've had the Proflex support for a month now and am very pleased with it. The construction quality is indeed good - materials and stitching are exactly what you would want. The support ribbing is moderately stiff. One thing I like about the ribbing is the rubber textured coating on the inside so it doesn't ride up on you - nice. The waist straps (2 sets) are easy to adjust and set firmly with Velcro, and it holds very tightly. If I had anything even slightly non-positive to say about this support it's that I was kind of hoping it would provide unbelievably firm back support. I does provide modest/decent support -- guess I was hoping these belts to do even more. What surprised me in a positive way was how it supports your front (stomach) muscles during lifting and how much that feels very reassuring. All in all I'm pleased with the product and have had no back injuries while using it.

Best back support I have ever used.

This is the best back support belt I've ever used so far.... I have two others that were supplied by past employers... but, they weren't nearly as nice as this belt. The construction on this belt is noticeably more heavy-duty. The shoulder straps are wider and thicker than the ones on most other belts. The belt is very comfortable, while being very stiff and supportive of the lower back. The shoulder straps are very easy to adjust and the support level can be adjusted by pulling or loosening the outer side support straps around the waist. There are also rubber gripping bars located on the back/inner side of the belt to keep it in place more securely. This is a high quality belt made of high quality materials.

Fits perfect

I had the 3XL first which seemed like it supported better but was bulky like it was too big, so I exchanged for the 2XL. The product looks very well made and of good quality. Fit comfortably but the 2XL did not seem to give as much support as I needed. This could a sizing issue but there is no size chart to gauge the proper fit. Unfortunately the Vel-Cro on one of the support straps stopped staying secure as well. Could have been just a one off issue. I would recommend giving it a try and judge for yourself.
