I purchased these cartridges for my 3M mask because we were doing some spray foam in the basement. For anyone thinking about such a project I highly recommend using these masks because of the fumes. Initially when we started the spray foam project, I thought we could get away with just two of these for the people closest to the spray foam, but it immediately became clear that the fumes were absolutely noxious and everyone involved had to have this mask. Without the mask, a strong chemical smell engulfs you when spray foaming. With the mask on, it is like breathing completely normal air despite the particulates in the air. The mask works for spray foaming for about 10 hours and then the smell begins to creep through again. The mask is rated for 8 hours of use and thus performs as expected.In addition to the spray foam project, we used it when putting polyurethane on wood, and if any of you have experienced that, it is also quite a stink with plenty of VOCs. Again, with this mask there is absolutely no smell at all. I would consider using this mask with any wood staining or spray foaming project, or any project with absolutely horrible smells and dust.Pros:works perfectly during spray foaming and coating wood with polyurethaneCons:expensive (but totally worth it)

With severe respiratory allergies I could not do anything in my barn this 3M 60928 P100 Reusable Respirator Combination Cartridge/Filter fits my needs for the exposures I have. It does require a Bayonet Connection (my full face resp. mask did not have one) but that is easily bought online, which I did. Go to 3M website to see which Cartridge/Filter is appropriate for your needs.
