This book covers a broad range of topics involving raised-bed gardens. It provides overviews that give enough detail without overwhelming the reader. Terrific photos. An over all great guide to the subject.

meh
This didn't have nearly as much information as I was hoping to find in it. I'm just starting out with a raised bed garden and had to find another book with more detailed information that I was looking for.

Another Brit! Not so useful!
There is much good stuff BUT the author is British and so is his viewpoint. If you read down far enough, the "About the author" paragraph will clue you in. Nothing else to warn you until you have the book in hand and begin to notice that materials, plants, etc. all have a British slant. I was just suspicious until he wrote about "courgettes" in the vegetable garden section! For other befuddled Americans, a courgette is a zucchini, that staple of the summer garden. Since I live in the low desert, about as far from the British climate as you can get, this book is not very useful to me. I would suggest that gardeners interested in raised beds start with a book by an American author familiar with your local region. All New Square Foot Gardening: The Revolutionary Way to Grow More In Less Space is a good place to start. Trellises, Planters & Raised Beds: 50 Easy, Unique, and Useful Projects You Can Make with Common Tools and Materials has handsome structures.
