It definitely works on Baofeng UV-5R the only thing is, it does not sqrew down flush with the radio, I'm constantly out in the field in a desert and I believe it not being flush will allow dirt particles to get into the antenna connection. Hopefully I can find one that will be flush. I'm not sure if it extended the range but FM stations are coming in more clear.

I used this antenna out on the railroad, the reception was somewhat better distance wise! I could not leave this on my portable so I left it folded in my bag, got it out last week and noticed the antenna has snapped, it’s not made for railroad work! Somewhat disappointed!!

I was not able to get it to work at all. The original antenna was able to get weather radio but this antenna got nothing. Sending it back. Disappointed.

This antwnna is garbage I had more reception with the short antenna then I did with this save ypur money and buy a nicer one

Right now it’s getting one star I have not been able to test it and it looks like it’s a knock off of one of the other types of antenna will see will update the review once I get to test it

Couldn't get out of my apartment with the stock antenna or a quality dual band whip on my UV-82X. Put this thing on and I'm getting full quieting on low power.It is long, though, but you knew that going in.Feels a little on the fragile side, wouldn't recommend for use where it might get dragged around.

I purchased this for my backup Baofeng GT-30 and maybe my GMRS radios. I put it in my Agilent network analyzer and it did not do well at all. In the 2M and 70cm bands - the SWR was high. It is not tuned for these bands. Bad enough that I am not even bothering with any Rx/Tx tests. Simply not worth carrying around. I was hoping for a a solid long range antenna for my HT - this is not the one.For those asking if it can be used folded - no. It is bad enough straight and folding it makes things far worse.

I sadly don't have a meter to test how well this is performing as an antennae, but as far as build goes it's pretty good. I fear I might end up losing an eyeball if I am not careful, but it comes with some strong velcro to tie it down so hopefully the flip-outs will be under control.Fits my Baofeng well and doesn't look TOO stupid :)Hopefully, somebody finds this review helpful!

Got reception and transmission capability with my Baofeng that I couldn't get with my standard antenna. I tested it up the lake and into town with a friend who used his standard antenna and got reception 15 miles out and around the bend into town. Ordinarily that wouldn't have been the case. The unit is handy and effective. I just wonder how much better it would have been if my friend had one as well.

Seems to be receiving more channels and is much clearer. I love the way it makes the radio look........ ..after using this for the last month I am not so impressed.. Seems like the stock antenna is better because this is a knock off of the abree antenna..

I have a Baofeng BF-F8HP radio with a stock antenna . I am able to get plenty of signal on various channels including FM.I place this antenna on and all I get is static..

This product looks good. But my personal testing shows that it is not any better than a stock antenna and is actually worse in some areas. Returned.
