Noodles are great
The flavor is great and it's my favorite type of noodles. I wanted to try a new flavor and it was more than I expected. The corner of the box did come dented though. But it didn't ruin the product.

Best udon I’ve tried yet on amazon
I thoroughly enjoy these udon bowls. They seem decently priced for the 6 bowls you get, when comparing it to other prices on Amazon. If I could change one thing. It would be the consistency of the noodles. Obviously it’s not fresh, but some of the Bowls (and I’ve ordered these for months every once in a while when I get the craving while in my tiny town) seem to have more dry noodles after cooking than others. It’s simple to make, easy directions to follow, and filling. Flavor is great. I usually cook the noodles in already hot water, for 2:30mins, let it sit while stirring to break up the noodles and let them soak in the broth, then add the veggies and flavor mixes, and stir for another minute or two to let them rehydrate.

Very tasty
Room to improve with your own additions (like mushrooms, thinly sliced beef, pork, or chicken, extra scallions, etc). But for instant udon, very good.

Authentic flavor
It’s quite tasty, however has high sodium content. Flavor is still good with only 1/2-2/3 of sauce

Does not meet expectations
The black bean sauce is good; the noodles are also fine; the “dried flakes” package is awful and gets washed away when draining the water from the cooked noodles; the package of chili powder generates excessive heat if used in its entirety. Cooking instructions need greater elaboration and highlighting. Overall, this product is inferior to authentic Janjang served in South Korea, despite being produced there as noted in the packaging. Personally, I prefer the Plado brand of equivalent products.

Stale and noodles would not separate but responsive supplier
Update 12/22Supplier responded with an immediate apology and has issued a full refund without me asking for it. Maybe I just got an accidental bad batch.============Terrible! The soups we received were a great disappointment. The noodles smelled slightly stale or rancid. Also, they would not separate easily. Even after putting them back in a pot of boiling water on the stove, they refused to separate completely and clumps remained. We tried 3 bowls and threw away the rest.Note: this is our favorite brand and flavor of soup which we often buy at the Asian grocery store so we know what it should taste and smell like and how to prepare it.
