FEL-PRO 3075 Gasket Making Material

You should all have this, it will get you out of a bind and it is of the highest quality.

Nice and thick, high quality, GREAT seal. Had to make a few seals with this as I had to disassemble parts after having them assembled due to stripped threads. It takes quite a bit of patience to shape this material and it was too strong to use any of the cookie cutter techniques. I ended up tracing the designs (every one of them complex as all ****...) and using a scalpel to iteratively carve the gaskets. I then used a Dremel and a sand wheel to sooth out the cuts. I used drill bits, by hand, to create bolt holes, then smoothed out the holes with the Dremel. The only real downside to this material is its smell - it's pretty awful.

Fantastic gasket making material. Definitely reccomend buying this roll rather than wasting time buyer individual gaskets made from the same material. Tracing the pattern and cutting takes a little time and patience but in the end you will have enough materials to make several duplicates if needed. This was used to install a very prone to leaking aftermarket water pump on a small block chevy 350 cubic inch motor. I reccomend using this gasket IN addition to a light application of the correct rtv as it will help seal uneven mating surfaces. This gasket material also does not absorb coolant allowing fluid to leak through the gasket material like other paper based gasket materials available.

I bought this gasket material to try for the rear end on my 1974 Cub Cadet 129 since I needed to change the hydraulic fluid and a new pre-cut gasket is $16. Is was easy enough to cut assuming that you are using a sharp blade. It seems to be doing the job just fine, however, I'm giving it only 4 stars because when it arrived it says on the label that the material can be used for water pumps, thermostat housings, and etc. So, in other words, it's meant to seal water passages. It doesn't say that in the description, and, I couldn't even find any information on the Fel-Pro web site. If it fails sooner than expected then lesson learned. Perhaps they should include everything that is contained on the product label in the description rather than a generic description? I had enough for what I needed this for with plenty left over for other projects down the road.

Good quality, thick enough for any small engine gasket.

Used during water pump replacement for the thermostat housing. OEM paper gasket was paper thin compared to the Fel-Pro 3075 Gasket Material. used the OEM as a template traced outline of gasket cut the center first and made a perfect copy only twice the thickness. I have the added comfort of heavy duty gaskets on my cooling system, for very little money. Well worth the added cost and effort.
