These are lightweight to hold on to but sturdy enough to cut the apple. My grandchildren were even comfortable using them. Good price is a bonus!

I make a lot of things using peeled and cored apples. This item works very well on most sizes of apples and removes the core easily.

This a great value for two apple slicers. I would never buy two, but getting two just makes sense if your family eats a lot of apples, one is probably always in the dishwasher. These slicers have nice big, comfortable handles, which makes it easier to force the slicer through harder apples. My last apple slicer cut each apple in 8 slices, which made the slices too small. This is perfect. My only complaint is that it doesn't completely cut through bottom of the apple. Not a deal breaker though, just a little tug and the slices come apart. I do think the blades could be sharper, it takes a little force to get through the apple skin. I've been eating a lot more apples since getting this slicer set, since it's much less hassle to get apple slices made. And I've never had a slice that contained any of the hard seed casings.

There's nothing new about apple slicers, of course they've been around for ages, though I hadn't owned one in years. If these are the modern version, I can't see there's been much improvement, and perhaps they've taken a step back in functionality. The wide plastic handles are good for spreading out force as you're pushing down on it to slice the apple, but the trade-off is that due to the thickness of the plastic housing, the blades don't come all the way down to flush with the work surface. So the tool doesn't actually slice all the way through. You still have to push the core and the slices that last fraction of an inch with your fingers. It does slice and core apples though.

Sliced through with minimal effort. I use my slicer for slicing pears.

This device is awesome and slices and cores apples simply and efficiently.
