Outstanding poduct
I ordered the 32" portable curved lap desk as I was traveling frequently while we were building a new house about 100 miles from where we lived. I was gone Monday through Friday for about 5 months. When the lap desk arrived I was concerned about it's thickness. I was unsure it would support my laptop, but soon discovered that it was pretty sturdy and would support the laptop and more. The item is light weight, easy to move and transport, stored it the vehicle easily, and very versatile.Since I liked to use my laptop while sitting in the armchair that was in the hotel, this was the perfect item to improve my experience. I measured the width of the arms of the chair and this item was a perfect fit. This allowed me to get the laptop off my legs and into a better position. I was also able to use the mouse a lot easier while using the lap desk. Additionally, it provided plenty of room for the mouse, mouse pad, phone, and a drink. The lap desk sat on the arms of the chair and was a perfect height for using the laptop and mouse.I also found the lap desk very useful for taking my meals. Due to the traveling and not fond of going out to eat every day I would have meals delivered to the hotel. The lap desk was great for eating meals. The item was wide enough to addomodate the large oblong paper plates, a salad container, a roll container, and a drink. Furthermore, it was at a good height for eating, including being able to cut meats, etc.I know that some of the versatility of this item was related to the height of the arms of the chairs, but the above experiences would not have been possible without the lap desk.I would happily recommend this lap desk to friends and family and anticipate taking it with me whenever I travel away from home in the future.

The Best Chair Laptop Desk Out There!!
Absolutely love this! I have it setting across the arms of my recliner and it's a perfect fit. My laptop is exactly where it should be with room to spare for my mouse and mousepad on the right and more room on the left. The curved out notch is wonderful and fits around your body without issue. Straps can be left on or simply removed. Now I can sit and read my Kindle e-books without having my Fire Max 11 across my legs. Quality is excellent and if you're in the market for one of these BUY IT! And it got delivered 8 days earlier than predicted. Definitely a winner!!

Perfect, even though it feels like a budget offering
I had originally been using one of those particleboard shelves as a desk over my recliner. It allowed me to use the desktop from a reclined position. I have the monitor on an articulating arm so I can draw it do my once I'm reclined. The original board was rectangular, heavy, and the unfinished edges were a cosmetic eyesore. I perused Amazon for something that was made for this purpose, rather than a random piece of furniture I had laying around. Surprisingly, there's not a big market for this type of thing. Apparently it would seem the market thinks reclining while using a keyboard/mouse isn't really a potential market. After days of searching, I found this item.It is more ergonomic than the rectangular plywood shelf, much lighter, and not unfinished edges. However, part of me is thinking this has to be cheap construction since it's so much lighter and thinner than what I was using before. However, a big part of why I sought out this item was because I wanted something thinner and lighter and also fit the contour of my belly. Looking at it, it seemed like someone with the right tools and materials could make this for under $20 - but alas, I know no one like that. So it's either acquire the tools and materials myself, then make the item. At that point, I'd be in for much more than the asking price. While part of me thinks this item could me made easily if someone already had the right infrastructure, I'm not one of those people. Rather than acquire a new woodworking hobby, the logical side of me realizes the asking price was well worth it.It is a laminate plywood construction with 5-layers. Similar to how wood tennis rackets looked from the side with the layers - if you are old enough to remember the names Bjorn Borg and Chris Everett. This turned out to be the exact ticket for me. Sure, the manufacturers are making a killing on the materials and labor, but there's also not a lot of companies making things like this. Maybe when working while reclining will become a viral market up the road and then others will be on board flooding the market. Until then, if someone like me wanted an item like this, I'd either have to make it from scratch, or do what I did, and pay to have an already made one sent to me at a premium.

Sturdy but heavy
It is a very sturdy and smooth lapdesk, but it is made of pressed board so it is a lot heavier than the thin plywood Levenger lapdesk I had for years. Sadly, the Levenger began to splinter around the edges and was scratching my forearms, so I had to find a replacement. That issue won't happen with this one. The other feature that is a little problematic to me is that the finish on it is so slick that anything you put on it slides around very easily -- meaning my phone slides off if I tilt the board slightly. I have to keep those silicon pads handy to hold things in place. A matte finish would have been more practical. And it's just a little too heavy for me with the laptop on it to move it quickly and easily to a side table, when I need to get up. Wide enough to fit comfortably across the arms of my chair. If you have strong arms and a few sticky pads handy, it's a very nice product.
