I use this set, and the additional colors to swirl guitar pedal enclosures for friends and myself. I’m glad i gave these another shot because the first time or two i wasn’t happy with the looks. What I’ve found to work for me is to let the water completely stop moving from being filled up before dropping the paint in. When swirling the paint around with a stirrer, avoid the edges because it seems like it forms a hard edge, and if you pull it in it will clump the paint. Going slow works the best from what I’ve seen. I’ve tried flat and glossy white primers as well as gloss white powdercoat and it all works great. The swirl must be semi transparent because over a gloss surface, the paint is glossy.It is picky on clear coats. I’ve tried rustoleum 2x clear and duplicolor clear and they kind of get “lumpy” over the paint, like the worst orange peel you could imagine. I’ve had excellent results with 2k clear.Overall this is a fun and easy to use product once you get the hang of it

These are great fun. Yes they dry fast so you can not doddle but they work well and the colors are vibrant. However, they do require a water-based varnish if you want to protect your work. Oil based sealants will act as a solvent and remove the paint very quickly. For outdoor projects, I think you can cover the water-based varnish with an oil based one after they are dry.- fun though, very fun.

Works beautifully once you get the right work process and timing. You have less than 90 seconds start to finish or the paint dries. That’s how it is people, if it didn’t dry fast the swirl would run and drop while drying.Until I found these, I was using model paints... with 50% of the dips with paint blobs. These are all so consistent. Love them. I will keep buying these.
