Yes, it's a one pager and mostly a diagram, but they give you all you need to know. If you don't have an understanding of auto mechanics and basic electronics, you should probably have it professionally installed as it is slightly more complicated than a simple plug-and-play device. Moving on...The device has a very straight forward installation process that took me about 20 minutes to complete. I'll include my steps at the bottom.It appears to me that the designer wanted this product to be very versatile. It can be used as a back-up cam, or a forward facing camera, a dash cam, or you can easily remove the actual camera from the support bracket and install it into your own mount.The camera works fine and is clear on my display unit. I installed it today and am not a fan of the guide lines, so i plan on splicing the white wire back together tomorrow.The reason for four stars, instead of five:There are no pictures of the unit installed on a vehicle. If there were, it would have been obvious that it blocks the expiration month of the license plate, which can result in a citation. This means that if your state has the expiration month at the top of the plate (and most do), it should be installed in the lower holes. This couldn't be done on my Nissan Titan as the bumper would completely block the view so I had to mount it under the bumper, on part of the tow package.Instructions:Hook the end of the wiring harness with the video connector to the back of your display/head unit and feed the other end to the rear of the vehicle. As the installation instructions state: ignore the red wire coming of of the video connector unless you are using the product as a forward-facing camera. Next, simply splice the red power lead into the power wire of one of the back-up lights and attach the ground wire to the body of the vehicle. Remove the bottom two screws from the license plate and install the camera bracket into those holes. Plug the wire connector and turn it on. Adjust the camera by rotating it up or down as needed, then tighten the two small set screws to lock the camera lens into place. The image should be reversed, meaning the things on the left of you're vehicle will be on the right in the display. If that's the case, cut the blue wire near the camera. If you want the guide lines to appear, you'll need tip cut the white wire as well. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Camera's great except for the wires. *by S***T on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on October 25, 2016* -New update below-So far so good. I've had it on for about 2 months now and the picture is still clear and bright. Night time view is better than I expected with no illumination...the truck's backup light and tail lights provide plenty of light at night. Solidly built and excellent adjustment range.The only downside I have is that when it's raining hard, water seems to stick in the little "well" the lens is in and the picture degrades considerably, but as soon as the rain stops, it clears up.Oh...the default is for the camera to be in non-mirrored mode and the guide lines to be off. Non-mirrored would be for a forward facing camera. For a backup camera, it makes everything look reversed. The instructions are terrible and don't even mention this at all. The solution is easy: on the cable there are two wires looped outside the wire harness plastic casing. The blue one controls the mirroring mode and the white one controls the guides. Cut the blue one to turn mirroring on (reverse the image) and cut the white one to turn on the guides.-Update-After having this camera on my truck for about 8 months now, I had to update my review and drop it from 4 stars to 3. The reason is not because of the camera itself, but because of the wiring. the power wires are TINY and very hard to work with. I've had the camera go out three times so far because one of those tiny wires broke after vibrating for a while. I'm beginning to think that I'll have to try a different brand of camera if it keeps up. So far the longest it's lasted before breaking has been 3 months. Once it only lasted 2 weeks before breaking. I've tried securing the wires various different ways, but apparently my truck just vibrates and bounces too much for them. It's actually a shame because otherwise it's been a great camera and has withstood some pretty harsh weather conditions this year. I don't understand why Chinese companies have to cheap out on some of the silliest stuff sometimes.
