Incredible
The detail in this book is absolutely incredible. I've never enjoyed reading such a technical and dense book in my life. It's strange to get excited about when I'm next going to have time to essentially read a text book which is a credit to how much I have learned from engaging with this book. It's practical and comprehensive. Took me a little while to figure out that some of the parts I was struggling to understand were the writer's style / sense of humour. Sometimes he makes a joke that if you're not ready to catch or haven't been fully paying enough attention, can find you completely lost trying to figure something out that there's no point in figuring out. In that way, I'd say it's probably not a book for anyone needing an introduction to the topics covered - probably better suited to someone with experience / knowledge of the subjects being addressed who wants to go in deeper.

McCarthy writes knowledgeably and authoritatively
If this is a subject you are interested in then this is one of the must read books on the subject. McCarthy writes knowledgeably and authoritatively on the subject. Highly recommend.

Essential reading for sound engineers
This book is the bible for anyone involved in live sound. If your job involves anything to do with audio, just buy this book. 40 pounds is a bargain for the amount of knowledge you will gain.

Read it, probably slowly
Always wondered why this book was so expensive, as soon as I received it I realised...if you’re involved in sound then buy it
