I recently up graded the firm ware in my camera. Now shooting with a CFexpress card/sdxc combo. What ever speed advantage I have with a CFexpress/XQD is pretty transparent,except to say both card types work. In camera I can toggle primary cards between using a XQD or CFExpress with sdxc card as overflow on rare occasions, no problem. And since this particular card reader reads both cards as well so getting images into post or temporary storage is not a death march. Another positive, at least for me, is I am not connecting the reader upside down as I had to do with my XQD only reader. This reader works with a small 4-port usb 3.0 hub, so in the field I can move files to a flash drive using a computer. The next question 'is can I use a tablet or cell phone to broker the transfer', have not yet done that. I'm very pleased that it did not have a dedicated cable and came with two cables. Nice and compact feels like a good build only wish it had an USB port and SD card slot.
