स्मृति की रेखायें इतनी स्पष्ट हैं कि लेखिका के अतीत में ही हम उनके साथ विचरण करने लगते हैं। गुंगिया की कहानी आँखों से आँसू निकाल देती है। ठाकुरी बाबा जैसे आंखों के आगे जीवंत हो उठते हैं। ये दोनों ही कहानियाँ उपन्यास का विस्तार के योग्य हैं। महादेवी जी के गद्य में एक गंभीर कथन, हल्का हास, घनीभूत भावनायें रस पैदा करती हैं।अवश्य पढिये और अपनी हिंदी समृद्ध करिये।

संसार में अज्ञान की जितनी आवृत्तियाँ होती हैं उतनी ज्ञान की नहीं, इसी से जीवन-रहस्य की झलक देने वाले क्षणों का प्रत्यावर्तन भी सहज नहीं।यह पुस्तक ऐसे असीम ज्ञान से भरी हुई है।

Simply awesome. Loved her style of writing. So relatable and emotional. During reading I could imagine and relate to the characters.
