Q-Bond KTI90005 Large Repair Kit (QB3)

I first used Q-Bond some nine years back reassembling a unique Italian motorbike. There was piece of plastic fairing mount broken off that was a critical, stressed attaching point up high in front that left the whole left face of the motorcycle gapped and droopy. With no replacement parts available, I felt fockered. No way will super glue withstand the forces applied to that ear, could take months to locate a used replacement. Then along comes Tom, the outside sales rep for one of the auto parts vendors that stocks my shop. He said I got what you need bro, and pulled out a box of Q-Bond. He then walked me through the process of grinding each edge to create a good chamfer, gluing it in place, then alternately applying and layering the black powder and super glue to build up a reinforced union that was stronger than the original piece. This took him seven minutes, and he was taking his time to teach me too. SOLD! I have not stopped using it since. It has saved my bacon on everything from carburetor mounting ears, plastic radiators, both steel and plastic fuel tanks, a myriad of automotive dash and heater case pieces, motorcycle fairings, broken tool carts, intake manifolds, laptop retention pads, eyeglasses, and the list goes on. I buy the big kits now and outfit every one of my auto/moto service techs with a kit for their toolboxes. Tell you what: it's one of our dirty little secrets that separates the average "master" mechanic from the elite journeyman in our trade, and I'll never stop singing the Q-Bond praises.

Wow. I’ve used this a few times now but the one that surprised me was the plastic dipstick holder on the side of my toro lawnmower. Was mowing my grass and had to get under my jeep a little and that thing got caught on something and broke off. Oil was going everywhere. So I said how the heck am I going to fix that. Then remembered that I just bought this awesome glue. So I took the part of. Cleaned it up really good with a rag and some carb cleaner and glued it just like the instructions said and it worked. Might even be stronger than before. Awesome stuff. Don’t want to break anything else but can’t wait till I do so I can use it again.

QBond can simply do miracles, and repair the seemingly irreparable. Once you get used to the way it woks, it’s a joy to use. The liquid adhesive seems stronger than regular brands. I always have one kit around.
