Review: Kept squirrels off my feeder! - I was having an issue with squirrels getting onto my black oil sunflower feeder, which is attached to my deck. I decided to try out this baffle to see if it would keep the squirrels away. The baffle came with instructions and required no assembly. It was super easy to set up. I love the hard plastic material too! I am happy to report that the baffle was effective and has kept the squirrels off of my feeder! This was a great value for my money and I plan on purchasing more! This would probably work for raccoons too, but I haven't had a problem with raccoons getting into this feeder.

**Q: If hanging a birdfeeder, how do you set up the hanging baffle on top of the feeder?  Not sure how to securely set this up via hanging**
A: There is a hook on top of the baffle that connects to the installation point. Under the baffle there is a hook where you connect your birdfeeder. I have three and they work perfectly

**Q: Can squirrels chew this? Also, if they can jump to it, will it break?**
A: I have a similar one.  Some can jump almost 4 feet and go over mine.  Never seen them chew it but mine is very sturdy cause one squirrel jumps 10-12 feet from tree and lands on it and falls.  Takes a beating but works

**Q: If looks like this baffle pivots, which would allow squirrels to drop onto larger bird feeders underneath. Can the baffle be fixed somehow?**
A: The baffle and the feeder below both move with the wind and in the case of our small feeder squirrels cannot just drop onto the feeder after sliding off the baffle.  Since I do not know your exact situation I really cannot know or guess how baffled your squirrels will be.  The baffle will pivot due to the fact it is just hanging.  If it was on a pole I suppose you could make it so it would not pivot as much by using washers that were made tight because the baffle does have a hole in the center through which you could put a pole through and not use the hook.  The hook in the picture is not stuck to the baffle.  It can be taken out.

**Q: I have a large, long bird feeder I need to protect - will the squirrels be able to slide down the baffle to the bottom of the feeder?**
A: I don't think so. The baffle tips when a squirrel climbs onto the top of it and usually throws it off balance enough to make it fall off. That being said, I never say 100% that a squirrel can't ... They are tough, strong and creative little pests! The other problem I've had with a long feeder is that squirrels inch their way down the nearby fence and stretch out to reach the feeder. I don't know what opportunistic objects you have, but it's a consideration. I do like the depth of the dome of this feeder. It does seem to help with the critter problem.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mostly works, but not fool/squirrel proof

These have worked well for their purpose overall, but they also fell victim to the squirrels incessant chewing as this is just plastic in the end and not the most durable material. The pole mount underneath one has been mostly chewed away, so the baffle sits sideways and barely has enough material left to hold it up. It still works, but can trigger those prone to OCD with being skewed. Although fairly large and unstable (a desired trait), I have still seen squirrels able to get on top of this thing and get to their free meal. Maybe a sharper curve would help throw them off better.
