Ingenious, simple locking system
This Nite Ice Carabiner, in size 3 and like its "sisters," has a simple and ingenious locking system. Simply slide a plastic nub into the "clip" to lock, and slide it out to unlock. It stays unlocked until you wish to lock it again. This is a small-ish size - about the size of a lip chap balm - is good for key rings and such, but I wanted the larger one, size 4, which is about the length of a credit card and has a larger opening. I use it to attach car keys to a small carry bag. This is a great product and I might even buy the smallest size (about the length of a paper clip) so that I have all the sizes covered.

Terrific gadget -- sturdy, handy, and attractive
I really like the slide-lock S-biners from Nite-Ize, and this one is great, too. Super sturdy -- easily handles a full water bottle -- and the little slide-locks keep the gates shut until you want to open them. And, the rainbow colors make this an especially attractive addition to my backpack loop. Highly recommended.
