I found the introductory story, “She Had a Very Inconvenient Heart,” to be an exceedingly substantial and satisfying main course. From the beginning of Cardia’s journey, through her struggles to rid herself of her assumed problem of a sensitive heart, each part resonated within the recesses of my own heart.As an added treat, the two stories which followed were a delectable desert, savory morsels to round out bountiful literary feast.John Mark Green has so graciously shared the other lovely facets of his brain and heart within these three tales. I am confident that all readers will be similarly delighted and find this beautiful book to ring true with themselves as well.

What a beautiful journey this Author takes you on! I’ve never felt more proud of the gift of feeling than I am this day! I can’t wait for another to be written! Until then, I shall be returning to the dog-eared corners I marked in the book!

I enjoyed every minute of reading "She Had a Very Inconvenient Heart" and the accompanying short stories. All of them are outstanding, but the main feature "She Had a Very Inconvenient Heart" is most definitely my favorite. I think every reader can relate to the main character's sense of "feeling too much". She struggles with very real emotions that everyone has felt at some point in their lives, and the added factor of magic and fantasy makes it all the more interesting and charming. I would definitely recommend this story to anyone. The following short stories are also beautiful and are truly a joy to read! Amazing work from this author, he deserves so much recognition!

I have been following John's poetry for sometime. He's been sharing his heart and poetry freely through many different platforms, so now that I had the opportunity to finally support his efforts I was more than happy to do so. It's a book filled with short stories, poems and lots of heart. You will find yourself lost in his words as he continues to remind you that it's an amazing feeling to be alive today to experience this life we live. Go ahead and buy this book, and get lost in his words.

I was blown away by this book. I'm an avid reader but rarely read or like short stories. But this. This was incredible. The words, the descriptions, the characters, the imagination! John Mark Green has a faithful new fan in me.

Beautifully written

I loved this collection of three short stories. The first is the one I love the most. I found myself in Cardia, a very sensitive girl with a very inconvenient heart, which "always insisted on feeling things ever so deeply". This is a modern fairytale in which the protagonist gives up her heart so as not to feel and suffer anymore. But when she find love, she regrets the ability to feel. Cardia is so similar to me, that I felt this story so deeply. I liked also the other stories rich in poetry and magic.I love also the cover with a suffering heart full of thorns and flowers.I suggest the reading of this book to all the sensitive souls, open minded people and poetry lovers.
