Blur is Sharp!
2015 and I just got my Xbox360 back after years and partner wanted a fun racing game since NFS Most Wanted was a letdown. I researched games with local multiplayer (basically 2 player without Xbox Live requirements) and stumbled upon this. I purchased this as a gift and needless to say, he loves it. I've never seen a smile so bright on his face. He told me this is the racing game he's always wanted complete with car variety, immediate racing, monster mash mode, slick and strategic to use power-ups and lots of cool environments to race with secret paths and more. Heck, I had fun just watching it. It really is a high quality racing game and if you can get a copy, I highly recommend you do so now. There is nothing exactly like it.

Super fun
Best racing car game I ever played. Multiple tracks, multi-player. Great power-ups, easy to play!

Great game ruined by a weak online player base
The Good: this is a super fun game. Think Mario Kart meets Need for Speed. Brilliant concept, very visually impressive, loads of stuff to unlock (cars, ranks, mods), it really deserves so much more than it ended up with. +3 stars for the Visuals, Concept, and Execution of the product. The Bad: Unfortunately, the sensational game play does not save the online multiplayer which (was boomin and awesome at release but) now dwindles well below 20 players on average in every online matchmaking game mode except for Powered up racing which is usually still pretty sluggish in getting started most times of the day but has its peak hours where you can still get a few good consecutive matches of mario kart style racing in. But the demolition derby mode (my personal favorite) among nearly all others, is almost impossible to play online. There's just never enough players in the queues. So -2 Stars for Poor online player base and, as a result of that, limited replay value. Otherwise, great concept, great game. Verdict: Totally worth it if your not all about the online replay value which, again, does exist, but is extremely limited by the game's online player population, or lack-there-of. It only cost me $20 bucks on Amazon, and you can usually get the online Powered-up Racing mode going, nearly all the online players in Blur are in that lobby when they're on. All things considered, it was a worthy investment for me.

Great arcade racer
Bizarre Creations is the developer of Blur and they have a solid background in the racing genre. Easiest way to describe Blur is a more advanced version of Mario Kart with real cars. Blur is a great game that seems to have been lost in the shuffle. There is a ton of stuff to do and unlock with a great variety of events to play. Standard Racing with the powerups, destruction, demolition derby, "Hardcore" racing with out the power ups are all available in single player and multiplayer (up to 20 people online, it really shows off how solid the core racing mechanic are) The Call of Duty inspired leveling up with mod "load outs" is a great idea. It allows you to customize your car (which there are many real cars from the likes of BMW, Audi, Chevy, Ford, VW to name a few) to give you an edge based on how you like to play. Damage boosts, health boosts, shield boosts/changes, better weapon evasion...there's a lot to play with. The game looks, sounds and controls fantastic. Rock solid framerate, fast load times, extensive on and offline play make Blur one of the best racing games to come out in quite some time. There's a lot of options to play with that keeps the game interesting and new in every game mode. Only thing I'm looking for is more tracks to rock and roll around!

Best racing game out there
I don't game very much, but sometimes find something I like. Blur is one of those games. I have been playing this game since May 2010. Unfortunately they no longer offer a demo so you can't try first. The best thing is to look at YouTube videos of actual gameplay. It never gets old. I just can't see how Split/Second and Need For Speed could possibly beat Blur for fun-factor (Need For Speed) and graphics (Split/Second). If you are a pure racer and don't want a game with weapons then you can play online with no weapons and, if you are a better driver, you will win. The game is not so 'arcadey' that you lose the need for skill to win. However, tactics really come in to play when you can pick up 'power-ups' from the track and use them for defense or attack. I can see myself playing this game for another 6 months without looking around for something else. Well done Activision.

Super fun
I love this game. It's like Mario Kart but without characters, and with realistic tracks/cars/etc. It's like other racing games, where you, well, race to the finish line, except you collect items to try to knock out your opponents. For example, you can drop mines on the track, and if someone hits one BOOM they get hurt pretty bad, and it sets them back (because everyone passes them). Lightening sets lightening fields on the track, which slows cars down if they run into them. And of course, there are healing and protection items you can collect to, to help yourself stay in the game. You can also play with up to four players (locally) and more online. It's a real fun game overall.

SNES Mariocart was more fun this game.
This is a hyped version of mariocart and its done so bad that I went and played the orignal mariocart for the SNES to make myself feel better about this purchase. Here is/are my complaints about this game: 1- There is no way a lambo and hummer are on the same level. This is impossible in the real world and not even tangible in the video game racing world. So stop doing this cause it just makes you look like you don't know what you are doing. We understand its a arcade racer make it believable. Mariocart made it believable so can you. And having a lambo being beaten by a hummer its just not working. 2. If you are driving a vw bettle without nitro, coolair intake, tubro/supercharger and your rival is driving the same exact car without said features then why is my rival always 50ft ahead of me and seem to 'hit' every single one of there powerups?? And I can't land one shot when they are inches in front of me? Again mario cart you were able to hit who you wanted to hit and even a miss fire resulted in something happening on the track. 3. Speaking of tracks why does this game feel almost like a baja racer game? Really if you are not going to be using real locations don't make up tracks that makes driving, drifting, cornering, drafting or anything that has to deal with driving physics period impossible. 4. and your selling point in the game is power ups, so why is this part of your game almost useless? Yes people the one aspect of the game that is suppose to be the star was almost forgotten. Turbo is a nice touch, the single shot, mine, and locked on shot are all good features but the lighting bolt that should never be used when you are out in front is useless unless you are chasing down a car or want to level the playing field. The triple shot is the worse one of them all cause you are suppose to be able to shoot it backwards but guess what people don't count on doing that so much. And why should I need a fix up my car power up? yes you will need these cause certain cars have shorter life spans then others. Remember the lambo and hummer comparsion earlier, the hummer has a higher life bar then the lambo. Don't believe me look at if you decide pick this game up. Which brings me to my concluding results for this game and its play the SNES version if you want to play this kind of driving game but stay clear of this overhyped, overbudgeted, miss the mark completely, useless title. Yes people I will be selling this game before I lose anymore money. The only sad thing is that this game REALLY tried to be mariocart with mustangs, lambos, hummers and bettles. Yes there is a vintage VW in the game, and can some one please tell me if a factory Ford focus can really beat a stock nissan 357z? I know the answer but I had to put that out cause that was one of the races that had me almost throw the disc against the wall that I lost. YES!!! The game is that bad. Go play mario cart for the SNES or even the new mario cart for the WII if you want a true arcade racing title. At lest they were able to give you options when you picked mario or toadstool, I mean even the princess peach floated for a while to help give you a egde. They could have done saomething like that here. And if they did the first open race was not a good impression cause I didn't even want to finish. SO do you rent or buy? I say neither. If you are a racing fan of any kind this will leave a bad taste in your mouth for a while. At lest split second TRIED to switch things up with other racing modes.

Muy buen juego, lo único malo es que no traía su caja color verde y traía una color negro, pero de ahí en fuera esta bien el juego :)
