INDOORS, OUTDOORS, or IN THE CAR
I am not your typical DJ. You won't see me doing Weddings, Debutante Balls, or Grandma's birthday party. I give a whole new meaning to the term "Mobile DJ", by mostly doing outdoor events like ice cream stands, car shows, backyard barbecues and parking lot flash parties out of my show truck using a gas powered generator (Not with the indoor ones of course). This is a hobby for me, so I'm happy if I get paid in cheeseburgers & birthday cake. I just recently started doing indoor parties, and wanted more control over a couple different sets of lights, and this MAD OWL DMX controller was the answer I was looking for. Price efficient, small, and I can control my two sets of lights IN REAL TIME, without having to program all those channels, scenes, & chase features if you don't want to.. Although they may be helpful in the future, who knows. But as some others have stated, watch a quick YouTube video on getting your lights to respond. There's one guy on a video from about 12 years ago (Yes, that's how old this technology is) that was significantly helpful, using the Chauvet Obey controller which this product is knocked off from. I literally picked it up in 2 minutes. If you're looking for professional equipment, you'll be spending thousands of dollars on stuff you will rarely even use. In my case, this cheap little controller helps me to control just a couple fixtures wirelessly (Is that even a word? 🤔 ) with a set of wireless DMX transmitters I got right here on Amazon. Which gives me more time to associate (Talk to the ladies ;) Anyways, sorry for the long story, but I get excited when inexpensive products actually perform as advertised🤘x 5

Great DMX board fir the money
This is a fantastic DMX board for the money. Especially for someone just starting out with learning DMX and getting their feet wet. Its very well built and solid. The sliders work well and are smooth. The instructions were written well. Overall ive been very happy with it.

Good for the money but not great overall
So the best feature of this console is the price. Yes, it does indeed control DMX lights and it does it inexpensively. But...the sliders feel fragile with varying levels of physical resistance and the buttons are almost comically loud when you press them. And programming? The manual is worthless so you'll need to find similar controllers on youtube to figure out how to program up any form of light show. In fairness, that's a true statement for many of the lighting controllers out there right now. If you're looking to get your feet wet in DMX control without breaking the bank, this is a great starter console as long as you have the patience to chase down some instructional videos. Because of the low price, I only deducted 1 star. Just be aware that this isn't what I would call road-worthy and I would question its reliability in a critical application (like a community theater production, etc)

Great controller to learn on!
This was my first dmx controller and now that I've figured it out is pretty easy to use! The build quality is obviously not as good as the big name brand ones but it's 1/3 the price so it's expected. Quite happy with my purchase. I set it up to control 2 ADJ bars, 2 stellar labs PARs, 2 swarm fx, and 2 different Chauvet lasers. I used it for the first time for a gig last night and I'm definitely happy with my purchase for the price!

If you have time to “twiddle “ with it…
Like I said in the video, if you have time to mess with it and figure it out, it’s perfectly fine especially if you’re trying to save a bunch of money that being said it can get a bit frustrating and confusing so make sure you’re in the right headspace, but for what I’m using it for as a mobile DJ, it works fine… I will leave an updated review after my wedding gig this month

A good controller to start out with! Watch a tutorial if you don't know what you are doing.
I had bought a couple of lights and had been using them on auto but wanted to start controlling them. Having zero frame of reference, I watched a couple of youtube videos on DMX controllers to figure out how to program the channels to connect with the controller. Once I did that it was alot of fun! Probably worth finding/printing the manuals for the lights you have so you can better understand what each channel does. I'm still trying to figure out how to do chases/scenes (the directions are translated from Chinese I'm pretty sure and challenging to implement). Otherwise, this is an enjoyable and fairly inexpensive way to start out if you are doing lighting for fun or for DJing.

Lasted one week
This DMX controller did not impress me at unboxing. It is light as a feather and only controlled lighting for one week before the values of each adjustment were out of tolerance. Don’t bother with this unit, you get what you pay for. I suggest budgeting for a controller in the $150-$250 range if you want to trust your controller. This controller is junk.
