5 Stars for the product in general, 3.5 stars for usable dimensions.Great product, obviously well-made. I ordered the small, cherry frame and was excited to see that it was packaged very well and with great care.Buyer beware, though, that the dimensions of the framing are also included in the overall listed dimensions. It isn't listed (as far as I could see) on the Amazon item page, but the width of the frame (~ 1.25") is listed in the seller's own website, under the "Questions and Answers" section. So, not entirely clear to the average consumer, but I knew the dimensions of the glass portion of the picture were going to be smaller than 7" x 9".That said, just know that the actual dimensions of the glass window for this particular piece are 3.5" tall x 6" long. If you account for the total dimensions listed (which I believe also accounts for the stand?), you're looking at roughly 1/3 of the total area of the picture being available for sand fun.You may think, "Oh, well then I'll just pay an extra $10 and get the 7" x 12" frame instead." But ... you're still going to likely only have 3.5" of height for the sand to fall. I'm personally torn between getting one larger than the small. It's a good size for a desk toy at the office, but I would like to watch the sand fall further. That's most of the enjoyment and relaxation, for me. Though, a longer picture allows for better hills and mountains.The frame is solid, but you can still feel the seams where the wood was joined in the corners. I get that these are still hand made and that some things will get missed here and there, but for $85 I would personally expect to have the joints sanded smooth and gaps filled as necessary (there's a tiny bit of dried glue poking out from one of the joints but I doubt anyone other than me would notice unless I wanted to stain the piece).Bottom Line: Yea, this thing is cool and fun to watch and I recommend that you get one too, but it still leaves me either wanting just a little bit more for the price or them to be priced a little cheaper.

I like the quality of this piece. I like everything about it except that the water background is too dark. The darkness makes it harder to see the sand image. I'd rather the water were clear or just lightly tinted. Aside from that complaint it is a really nice piece. I like that it is one piece and not on a flimsy stand. I like that it comes with instructions for care. I think the images are beautiful, but they are hard to see unless you are close to it. I have it on a shelf in my office and I'd rather it could be seen more easily without having to hold it or be right next to it, hence I wish the water was not so dark.

I bought this for my wife as she admired one owned by a friend. She finds it therapeutic, relaxing, and a way to express her creative side. Well constructed. Arrived in a timely manner.

Beautiful and zen-like mesmerizing! And, if you put it in the sun, through the window, it sparkles and glows as it changes shape. A constant delight!

I bought this small size sand art for $90 for my 92 year old grandmother. We gave it to her for Christmas yesterday. It’s terrible. I followed the directions to shake it to create the small bubbles for the best sandscapes. No matter how many times we flip it, about half the sand is always stuck at the top. We bought one like this a few years ago for $15 with plastic edges...we decided to get her a ‘nicer’ one this year. Too late to return now since I shop far ahead of time for Christmas. Lesson learned... save your money. I took a chance and lost.

This is beautiful. Very high quality. Well made. It is perfect for my beach room. The pictures the sands create are really pretty. its like having a moving ocean right in my bedroom. I love it.
