Meinl Percussion Deluxe Cajon Seat for Any Size with Thick Padding and No Adhesive Required (DCS)

This is a great thing to have between you and your cajon. I've had it for a couple of weeks and it definitely makes a difference in how long I can play my cajon before my butt goes numb. (I also have a Shlagwerk Ergo Cajon Adapter; an unbeatable combo. ) As any cajon player knows, the more cushioning the better.But there are also some features not mentioned in the item description:The bottom of the seat is finished with a grippy material like nonskid shelf mats that keep it from slipping on your cajon.The seat cover has a zipper so the cover can be removed ; I suppose for cleaning or repair. There's no handle tab on mine, but it's no big deal because I don't imagine I'll use it often.I'm glad I have this cushion because it lets me enjoy playing my cajon more.

Want some cushion for the thump thump thump of the cajon on your tush? Well look no further my friend. Tired of my bottom hurting after playing the cajon I bought this. It is great. Super padded top with grippy bottom. Works great. I posted 3 pics. One is me squishing down on it to show the amount of padding, one is the grippy bottom and one is the size on my cajon. This wasn't the cheapest product, but I was tired of using a pillow that was way to big to help with some cushioning.

I like this set A LOT!Like everyone else already said, it is much smaller than you might expect.But it works well even though your butt hangs over.The most needed body parts get some relief from the cushion.Well made, leathery looking with nice cross stitching pattern.Fits well inside my cajon bag between the four rubber feet.Also works with my Schlagewerk cajon stand.I doubt it will last a long, long time,but I would still recommend buying it.Much better than the thin (1/4") pad, or nothing at all.

I had bought this cushion to use on a cajon that I had built. Overall the cushion is really comfortable and appears to be pretty durable. I took away 1 star as the anti slip material on the bottom had a severe reaction with the clear lacquer on top of the cajon. I had left the cushion sitting on the cajon overnight, and found it was stuck to the lacquer. It did pull loose but left a dull dot everywhere it touched the lacquer. Had to sand the top down then reapply a new coat of lacquer.

Only one star short because the seat is so small. It genuinely wouldnt cost them *that* much more to expand the dimensions of the seat. But I will admit, it is certainly very comfortable and helps TREMENDOUSLY when playing longer sets

I’m a church percussionist and I recently needed to replace my broken LP cajon, which had a “mouse pad” seat cushion. I never realized how uncomfortable I was sitting for over an hour in church service on that mouse pad! When I purchased the Sela Cajon, it had no padding at all. So after searching Amazon for at least a little cushion, I came across this Meinl Cajon pad. After reading some of the reviews, I was a little apprehensive. The padding was thick, and drummers mentioned having to lean down a little farther than they would’ve liked, which strains the back However, this is not the case with Sela Cajons, because they do not require you to lean down as much to hit the bass tone. Therefore this padding is perfect and It will be like heaven to sit on at church services. I honestly think Meinl could save a few bucks and make this padding a bit thinner to accommodate the cajons that have the bass tone lower down the drum.

OK, as far as seats go for acajon, This is an excellent product. It cushions and is not too bulky. It is designed for the bones on your bottom so they do not become sore. If you were expecting a full cushy seat, then this is not for you. It is a product that is very well-made and is as described. I would purchase this again. I can see myself sitting and playing for hours with this little seat under my bottom. LOL

Is this better than sitting on solid wood? Yes. But does it really make a huge difference? Not really. I gave it only 3 stars because it is too smallin my opinion. My bottom doesnt even fit on the seat. I dont know why they couldnt make it a bit larger. And the padding isnt that great on it after a while either. It gets the job done but it certainly has toom for improvement

Great bit of gear!I've been gigging sitting on a Cajon now for just over a year (2 hour gigs usually) after an hour on that thing, you know you need some padded help!This Cajon seat is great, it could do with being a bit thicker, but other than that, this is one welcome addition to the gigging family!I was pleasantly surprised with how well this cushion was put together, the stitching is good and seems durable and the foam used in the filling is a very tough memory foam. The anti-slip bottom is brilliant, not one bit of give at all.

It's a bit of memory foam. Very expensive memory foam. But by goodness, is it ever comfy! Oh yes - now at least an hour until my buttocks ache and even longer than that before they begin to sweat. Nothing nice about sweaty, aching buttocks. Oh matron!

Using the cushion makes playing the Cajon for three hours at a time much more comfortable

A comfy seat and it looks good- about 3.5cm thick.But bear in mind that when playing, it might be easier on your back if you sit on one of the thinner seat pads that are available.
