Broilmaster DPP102 Replacement Burner for D4/P4 Series Grills

I did not know if my grill was a early are late 2012 and up. I got it for the early I had to cut a slot in the mounting bracket to clear the gas supply line. I had a cheap replacement burner when I went with this burner what a difference it made. I can control the temp much better and cook without burning food up : ) its worth the high price. I don't have a hot spot near the rear like I did with other burners. The cool spot on this burner is dead center its nice to be able to move around to a cooler spot. It does not flair up like the cheap burner did.

Is a nice replacement for the original bow tie burner that came with my grill. I use it as a natural gas unit vs bottle so one less thing to worry about in FL and potential hurricanes etc. Never lost the gas in 40 years. Not sure why but the left side of the burner doesn't seem to burn as hot as the right especially at lowered temps. I compensate by giving the left adjustment a bit of a nudge up on lower temps. Certainly looks better than the rusty looking bow tie that came with this P4. Update: the burner temp things bugged me so I stopped by the dealer I purchased my Broilmaster P4 from - 11 years ago and learned for the 1st time it has a 'lifetime' warranty so they told me to blow out the line on that side and are sending me not only a new stainless steel burner but the chrome grates and shelf and the new ceramic plates to replace the flavor screen.

Changing the burner was an easy "drop in" operation. Everything was a perfect fit the change out operation took less than 5 minutes.

Replacement original Broilmaster parts. I have replaced these over the 15+ years i have had my grill always with the stainless parts from OEM - they seem to last about 4-5 years and rust out ... normally if you have the warranty card/bill of purchse you can get a warranty replacement for about 25 bucks or so ... i've lost my receipt now so had to buy the one here on amazon.

I assumed it would be harder to install a burner but this was easy enough that I could do it in 5 minutes. The four screws that attach the tubes to the plate are a little difficult to thread in. I'm glad I read the instructions and avoided using power tools on them.

This is my 3rd gas burner for the grill. I've had the grill 14 years. The burner went right in with no problem.

My original review was: Cannot get the flame to go to blue. It appears to just push the propane. I don't get it.I found out the problem. In the process of removing the gas lines, I lost the orifices that reduce the volume of gas getting to the burner. Once I replaced the orifices the burner was very easy to adjust the flame to blue.
