Excellent bongos!
Very well made, great sound! Mine came with better heads than those advertized. They appear to be from buffalo or cowhide. In the picture looks like calf skin. Overall very happy and theyre very close to professional ones. Thinking of buying matching congas.

Waited a Whole Year before doing my review
I bought my Matador Bongos a year ago in Jan 2019, its now Jan 2020. So I have had a whole year to play them before reviewing them. I really Really Like These LP Matador Bongos. They are Big! and Heavy!. I also have a set of Toca Congas which I have had for over Three years, I also have a matching set of Toca Bongos, which are Smaller diameter than my LP Matador Bongos giving the Toca's a higher pitch sound while the LP Matadors have a Lower Base sound, even when tuned to a higher pitch. These are easy on the hands, and very comfortable to play for extended periods. the Matadors are very heavyduty/ robustly built, and should last a lifetime, the hardware is also very heavy duty, and Quality is top notch, my Toca bongos are of a significantly Lighter duty build. The LP Matadors are Big Bongos and are heavy, too heavy for me to play on my lap, for any periods of time or between the legs, just too heavy, and very Uncomfortable to play. I bought LP seated Bongo stand the LP330C Bongo stand, which is a Must have for these weighty bongos. My drum setup is as follows a 14" diameter Remo Mondo djembe and a 12" Remo Mondo djembe on stands, and a set of Toca Congas on a stand and matching Toca bongos on a stand with my LP Matador Bongos also on a stand. the Matador Bongos seem very well made. Love the Almond Brown color. These bongos are loud when you want them to be or fairly quiet when you play them that way. Note like any Bongos, they need to break in somewhat, and tune them, when they need to be tuned, for them to sound their best. Like any set of Bongos the sound is muted somewhat when resting on a surface or lap, But put them on a stand and the sound is Much better. I also have the LP Lap Top Congas and they are the same if bottom is blocked or anything touching it, the sound will be altered, as on a surface the tones get stifled/muted, so most of the best tones will be lost, causing the instrument to sound dull. Changing to Better Heads/skins on these Bongos can really make them sound Great!!! Love these Bongos, spend some time playing them and developing your rhythm to make these into a great sounding instrument.

Beautifully made.
I tuned these bongos when they arrived and used them soon after on an album of original music. They sound great, look great. Just what I needed.

Good bongos for beginners
They are above average. Gods for practice and learning. Not great for professional performances.
