Unbelievable, I was at wit's end and quickly out of runway until this tool saved the day.
I believe I had the toughest tub drain ever and I'm not kidding. Nothing would make this sucker budge - absolutely nothing. After the cross broke off I tried extractor, another one, and then this one. And when I tried to use this tool I couldn't get it to bite. But after a while I learned how to leverage the hole so that I could get it to bit without slipping. And after a few rounds of heat from blow dryer it finally moved a bit. And then slowly but surely I started turning it. I couldn't do it without this tool. Although it's expensive but what can I do. You have to pay to get a victory.

IT WORKS!
This worked in very short time! Drain going on 18 years old, the bottom cross bracket was rotted out so looked at several of the tools to get this thing unscrewed. I’ve got 3 tubs all missing the bottom cross bracket so went with the best review (and higher priced option) hoping it would do the trick. Inserted the tool and twisted to open the teeth, put a small pipe about 10” on the end of the 3/8” ratchet handle and it worked great. No way it would’ve come off without the pipe on the socket handle. I had taken several turns so i removed the pipe and it would barely budge, so put the pipe back on for a few more turns. Very happy with this ingenious gadget, and much relieved I don’t need to call a plumber in. No doubts in my mind doing the other 2 tubs now!

Works great
This was the third drain removal tool I purchased and it did the job where the others couldn't. The teeth are sharp and dig into the inside of the drain very effectively. The only downside was the price, but still cheaper than a visit from a plumber. Would recommend to anyone struggling to remove a stubborn drain.

Worked to remove a stuck drain that had broken
Bought this to remove a broken tub drain. The cross at the bottom of the drain had broken off so the standard drain remover wrench would not work and I didn't want to take a chance on cutting into the actual tub to make a slit in it for the pry-bar technique. This tool was able to take the broken drain out and i had it replaced within 5 minutes. Expensive but worth the price if you wasted a bunch of time like i did trying to get it out.
