Awesome book. Any of Mr. Freeman's books are well worth the money and time.

A excellent book on photographic exposure for every experienced photographer
I find this book excellent (but I'm only on page 65). Any amateur photographer can succeed in exposing a photographic subject a little complex by chance, once in ten (because the combinations of diaph, ISO and speed are not infinite) without great knowledge. But whoever really wants to improve in shooting and improve its rate of beautiful photos must, in my opinion, have read this book. It makes you want to take up the challenges and gives the tools to do this. A very good book just like the other three books I have from the same author.

Good book, worth a read
This is actually a very good book. I dropped a star because Michael's wording is often flamboyant, a little inconsistent and on occasion difficult to understand. If you persist on some of the difficult sections, there is a lot of very good and useable content to be uncovered.

Not so perfect book
The book is a mile wide and an inch deep. It is not a coherent methodology for exposing, which is what I wanted. The author covers many topics, but too many of the lessons are obtusely written. It reads like someone over redacted lengthy descriptions. It's the inconsistency and lack of supporting information for the photos that bugged me the most. Sometimes there are histograms, sometimes there are indications of how many stops above or below metering he used, sometimes there are schematic diagrams, sometimes f stops are given, sometimes its brightness percentages and sometimes its zones. This book is like a tasting menu where there portions are tiny, the quality is variable and you are left wondering how it fits together. I give it 3 stars because the book got me thinking about key tones and rethinking shadows, which will improve my work. But the takeaways were not worth the price or the time it took to go through the book.
