Yellow Kite Leopard is a Neutral: A Really Useful Style Guide

I don’t know what to think
I am very divided. At first, the author talks about how no rules should apply to fashion and how she decided to break free of them and only wear what she wants. Then, a few chapters later (chapter 6 and following), she starts giving a list of rules on a lot of subjects… Personally, I am a 'rule person’ so I don’t mind, but I don’t like the contradictions. On the other hand, what she says about social medias and the way it affects our beauty and fashion standards horribly is so true. I honestly don’t know what to think. Also it didn’t really teach me anything new… disappointed

A review
Erica Davies is not your average ‘Influencer’. In a Social climate that feels overpopulated with “here’s my latest Book Deal, guys!” with titles that are frankly a waste of our precious forest resources (& almost certainly destined to gather dust on shelves or end up in your local Charity Shop); Erica Davies has given us something enduring. A classic investment piece. Something well-made, timeless & inspiring to refer to again & again, to share with friends or pass on to family. Ultimately ‘Leopard is a Neutral’ can (re)introduce us all to the simple JOY in the act of getting dressed.First & foremost, she knows how to write- with skill, sincerity & wit. An accomplished Journalist who has been generous with her advice for many years across Print & Online. The proof is in the Copy. She’s done the graft behind her Styling craft. It’s so evident throughout her established work & reputation. The book is much more than behind-the-scenes in Fashion (with a capital F) Cupboards, shoots & sets; it’s what works in REAL life, for REAL women.A thoroughly helpful & thought provoking guide for every ‘ordinary’ feeling one of us wishing we could wear our inner extraordinary with pride. She’s always endeavoured to encourage us into exploring our own wardrobes; holding our hand gently through to sartorial Narnia & draping that *just* right coat over our shoulders with a comforting squeeze as she does. It’s up there for me with the likes of Kate Watson-Smyth’s ‘Mad about the house’. It’s beautiful & it’s useful.

So informative
Love this book, it's so honest and right. Great practical advice without being condescending. As soon as I got it I read it, then I re-read it and then I read it again. I have made mental notes from it and am putting them into practise. I would highly recommend.
