**Q: Does it come with batteries?**
A: Yes. I bought this in May, 2019. It came with 6 batteries.

**Q: Are these product made in China?**
A: Apparently so. I ordered mine Jan 2, 2017 and they are shipping from China.  Estimated delivery Jan 23 - Feb 13.  Doesn't quite fit with Primes 2 day shipping "guarantee"!  Update: Received on Jan. 17.  Works as advertised.  I'm satisfied.

**Q: is there a on off switch**
A: No, there's no switch on the lanterns. You simply need to pull the top up to turn the lights on and push it back down to turn the lights off.

**Q: How many lumens does one lamp have?**
A: The advertisement states "Equipped with 30 crazy bright leds, this compact lantern cuts through 360 degrees of darkness on the stormiest, dimmest nights."

"Crazy bright" is not an official measurement, however, advert indicates 140 lumens.  For reference; a standard incandescent 120V/60W light bulb is rated at 850 lumens.  This is not a calibration standard, but will provide a means of comparison (minus the difference in color temperature).

I wasn't really looking for any lanterns on Amazon, but when I came across 2 for 15 bucks I couldn't pass it up. These things could easily be sold elsewhere for 20 bucks a piece.They look like they're made of machined aluminum in the photos, but they're actually made of a durable plastic. They're very lightweight and small. WAY smaller than other lanterns that produce the same output with standard bulbs. There are a total of 30 LED's, 3 sides with 10 each in a triangular pattern. The lighting output is sufficient, it won't blow you away, but it is definitely bright enough to illuminate a tent or picnic table. You could even use it for navigating on foot due to its size.The light collapses down into the body, and when you want to turn it on you pop it up. There is no switch, it turns on automatically. The lights turn on at about 1/4" of lifting it up. The movement is very smooth and fluid. There is just enough friction so that it is easy to pull up, yet not to little as to let it come up on its own and turn on if it were upside down. I should note that there is no digital function to change the brightness. However, you could easily do this by collapsing the light a little bit so some or most of the LED's are inside the body. Of course, it won't save any power doing it this way though. The handles are made of stainless steel and do exactly what they're supposed to. It is worth mentioning that the handles do not hinder the movement of the mechanism even when they are in their collapsed position.The lantern takes 3 AA batteries. I like this feature a lot because I am used to having big bulky lanterns that use D or C batteries for camping. AA batteries are much smaller and more common, plus I can use rechargeable ones which is nice. The battery compartment is housed at the bottom and is accessed by unscrewing a lid. This is an advantage over a traditional clipping cover that other products use that pop off and get lost easily.My only complaint is that I would have preferred a single handle that was centered rather than two handles on either end. This is just because I think two is over kill.Other than that, I can only say good things about these lanterns. If you're even considering buying them, just do it, you won't be disappointed.Thanks Divine LEDs!
