Super
Another book of this author. My daughter didn't read yet as she has other 3 of the same author, however looks very promising. Great front design, good quality bookand surely well written. My daughter started other title of the same author, so far very happy with the story, magical book she says. I can be sure all books of this author are just perfect for a young child to explore fantasy, magic and have lots of fun while reading it. We all love design of the front of the book as it's already looks magical.Highly recommend this author.

A Magical and Thought-provoking Story
4.5/5As a mum, I've been searching for books to populate a small library for my children as they grow and want it to be diverse, interesting and spark interest in learning more about different people, places and concepts. Tamarind & the Star of Ishta has made it into the slowly growing collection. The story is magical and enchanting but also contains themes of culture, grief and family which can be hard hitting. The chapters make it a good candidate to read a bit every night before bed and each one has its own development and talking point.A lovely story that both tugs on the heart strings and encourages conversation.

A very beautiful story of loss, change and family healing
I really loved Jasbinder's debut book, Asha and the Spirit Bird, and was a little bit worried I might not love Tamarind and the Star of Ishtar quite as much - however, I was pleasantly surprised to find I loved it EVEN MORE! A wonderful story, set in the Himalayas, where Tamarind has been sent to meet her mother's family for the first time. Weaving myth and family fall outs, filled with brilliant characters and a very exciting plot-line, this really is a book to treasure.

Enchanting Story
This is a beautifully written and charming story. Tamarind is a wholly believable girl who travels to her family's home in India. Whilst there, something really magical happens. This is by no means a whimsical tale - real life intervenes sometimes in a harsh way.I loved this book and can recommend it highly.

Beautiful, gentle narrative that still packs a punch!
Soooo beautiful. Tamarind discovers as much about herself as she does her late mother in such a glorious setting. Gorgeous!
