This steamer is the 9th All-Clad pot in our household and I would say its on par with what I've come to expect of All-Clad. Excellent quality, looks great and performs well. This is also the first All-Clad item that I've bought that is made in China. The try-ply base is still fabricated in the United States, but its then shipped to China for the sides/handles/lid and final assembly. We primarily bought this steamer to make homemade baby food, and it does an excellent job of steaming all foods. I think we have steamed every fruit and vegetable to-date without issue. We also use the base solo to make pasta sauce, chilli and stews. My wife found our 10qt pot was just too heavy to lift once filled so this pot is a good size for her. Admittedly, it is much easier to lift and pour for myself as well. It washes and rinses clean very well like my other All-Clad pots. I always dry my utensils and pots immediately so I've never had an issue with water spotting or staining. You will see water spots if you let them air dry and especially more so if you have harder water (been there). Pros: - Excellent quality, performance, and durability - Looks great - Perfect size and weight balance when full for my wife to lift Cons: - Would be happier if its was made entirely in the United States. I guess time will tell how it compares.

A versatile pot at 5 quart capacity. Solid All-Clad construction, and excellent All-Clad performance. One of my go-to workhorses, especially when cooking for one or two. A perfect steamer. Great for soups, stews, curries, and one pot meals. Excellent for just about any noodle, e.g., rice, mung, sweet potato, buckwheat or wheat. With the aluminum ply base and curved body, water boils quickly. It has a nice response too. Excellent for steaming eggs instead of hard-boiling them. This pot steams 15 large eggs easily, with all eggs on their side in the basket. If stacked, then a couple dozen or more. Steams 15 eggs in 12 minutes for a soft non-runny yolk, 15 to 17 minutes for firmer yolk (your mileage and personal preference may vary). Bring water to a boil, place the basket with eggs in the pot, cover, steam for desired consistency, flash chill in cool water if desired or let them stand and cool slowly. Stainless steel construction, it cleans easily and buffs to a mirror finish with a soft cloth. A very light coat of cooking spray or oil wiped down with a cotton, microfiber or paper towel prevents spotting after washing and drying, and helps preserve the finish and rust resistance. Well worth the expense.
