It filleted my cleaning sponge so well I didn't notice it until I wrung it out. Same with the package of Kirkland thick cut bacon. The weight is hefty and I can see it being a challenge if I need to handle it for a long period of time, maybe an hour or so. On the other hand the weight is more than enough to get through dense meat & veggies without tiring me out too fast. A small but heavy magnet/pin was also included that's now living on my fridge. Dalstrong recommends using a whetstone to keep it sharp so my next challenge is learning how to use one. This is one of the best kitchen investments I've made in a while. If I were stronger, I'd spring for the 9" cleaver.
