Read before installing
It is such a cute desk perfect for my kindergartener! Every time I see it in my kids room now, I think what a good decision it was to purchase it. My only warning is you might need to be careful when installing the desk with the screws going up into the main desk surface. My husband is good with tools, and he was super surprised when he noticed cracks in the wood on top of the desk from putting the screws in underneath. Directions should say something about not putting the screws in fully tight, as if you put it in fully tight goes through the top of the wood, and you can see cracks on desk top. After noticing it, he loosened screws, and looks barely noticeable now. I ended up contacting customer service on KidKrafts website directly as amazon required disassembling the desk and fully returning the desk which just sounded like too much of a pain! I was super impressed with the customer service person I corresponded with from Kids Kraft. I am a KidKraft fan for life now! Hopefully, if you read this review, you should be able to install the desk with no damage, but if you do have any damaged parts, there is a parts request form on the KidKraft website. If you have any issues, the customer service team at Kid Kraft are awesome! They ended up sending us a previously returned desk to get the damaged part since the individual part we needed was on backorder for over a couple months. My husband thinks that the new desk we got already has a fix in it to make you not able to over screw into the tabletop. He thinks the piece you screw into is different now and prevents you from overscrewing. As fyi, I got the ostepdecor clear table protector 2pc 24x16 inch on amazon shown in photo, so that hopefully the desk is protected as my child starts to use it.

Perfect Desk for Elementary Age Students and Lovely Design.
I recently decided to create a study area under my little girl’s loft bed so she could have a dedicated space for virtual learning in the fall. My husband and I started searching for desks that would fit this space and this was the only desk that fit the space, while also offering a stylish design and drawers / cabinets to place her paperwork and computer. After reading the reviews on this desk, I was very hesitant to purchase it. The photos were littered with broken chairs, size issues, etc. I didn’t want to buy a piece of junk and there weren’t many people cheering this desk on.We finally decided that we could just return it if it were junk, but give it a try since it met all our criteria.I want to say that I was downright angry at the negatives said about this desk once it was assembled. It is sturdy, has ample storage space and a great design. I nearly missed out on the perfect purchase if I hadn’t taken the risk and bought it.My daughter is seven (and she’s tall for her age). This desk fits her perfectly. It isn’t just for tiny toddlers.Yes, it is made of pressed wood. I’m traditionally a fan of investing in real wood, but this desk still looks sharp without spending $500 - $1000 more to get a real wood desk for a child. (Yes, we did price similar desks at mid to high-end retail stores. That was the price jump in case you need “real wood.”)My daughter isn’t CEO of a company (yet) and doesn’t need luxury furniture to impress clients. She needed a cute desk that was sturdy and allowed her to store her school work and study without distraction. This desk won hands down.If you have reasonable expectations and like this design, buy this desk. It was assembled in less than an hour and everything arrived in perfect condition. I could not be happier with this purchase. My little girl adores it.

If you are planning on buying this it’s great but a few words of wisdom.
Okay so I’ve read all of the reviews and I provided feedback directly to Kidcraft manufacturing. I bought this desk for my daughter and she loves it. After reading the reviews I made two engineering changes and learned a valuable piece of information I need to share you’ll be happy with this product.First many of the negative reviews were about the chair falling apart. I see why this can happen. When assembling the chair seat to the back leg assembly you will screw to long screws connecting the two pieces. I’ve included two pictures. There is still a space by design between the back leg assembly and the chair top. If you tighten too much you can break the wood horizontal support on the chair top assembly. An easy way to prevent that is to add 1/4” thick grommets or washers between the gap. You could also use a wood shim but it’s not as nice. This way when you tighten the screws you don’t over stress the wood support. Do this and your chair will be solid and will not break apart. I also use wood glue when assembling the pieces. The second piece of important information is when assembling the screws referred to by the letter “T”. These are the screws that connect the table top to the base. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. if you do you’ll hear a crack as the screw snaps through the surface laminate and you will have 6 bumps on the tabletop. What I would do is put an adhesive like locktite on the screw threads and hand tighten the screws into the desktop. So so so important, trust me. This will keep the screws tight while not destroying the table top.I hope this helps and I think you’ll be happy overall with the desk.

Sturdy and looks great!
I bought this desk for my granddaughter. It took a bit of time to put together but it was not too difficult. Some of the pictures for the instructions could have been a bit better but it came together in the end. Very nice desk. Looks good and not cheap. My only disappointment is that I wish it was slightly bigger so she can use it longer, as at 7 years old she seems to be almost growing out of it.
